【Sophisticated Dining at Rosewood】Rosewood Hotel 🍰The Butterfly Room
This weekend, I celebrated my mom's birthday at The Butterfly Room in Rosewood Hotel. I made a reservation a month in advance, wanting to treat my mom to a delightful afternoon tea experience.
The Butterfly Room offers a comfortable and elegant ambiance with an artistic design style. Once seated, the attentive staff served us exquisite tea and beverages. The first to arrive were the delicious sandwiches, featuring black truffle quail eggs, walnut cucumber cheese, smoked salmon caviar, and cheese ham. I particularly enjoyed the rich and flavorful black truffle scrambled egg sandwich, while the refreshing walnut cucumber cheese rolls were delightful.
Next came the English scones in original and grape flavors. These scones had a dense texture and a pronounced buttery aroma. Apart from the traditional cream and strawberry jam, there was a unique orange marmalade with a hint of citrus peel, adding a refreshing twist.
Then, the legendary dessert trolley made its appearance! The trolley presented an array of tempting treats, including berry cream cake, cheesecake, madeleine shell cake, raspberry tart, and Napoleon pastry. As we were already quite full, we opted for just two selections.
The hotel was incredibly considerate, as I had mentioned the birthday celebration during the reservation. They prepared a birthday card for us and the staff kindly took our photos to capture the special moment.
Lastly, they offered us an exquisite chocolate platter, which was both visually appealing and incredibly delicious.
We truly appreciated the impeccable service and warm atmosphere at The Butterfly Room in Rosewood Hotel. It was a perfect setting for quality time with my mom, and we left feeling satisfied and happy. We will...
Read moreFantastic ambience and beautiful staff uniforms foiled by a rushed, inexperienced service and middle of the road food. We had high expectations upon our visit. The Hokkaido Custard Flan was exceptionally well-prepared; in fact, we prioritized ordering it even before any other dishes and coffee/tea & champagne.
I would like to offer an honest assessment. I am sorry if it is a little too detailed.
In a nutshell. If your target audience consists of casual, non-discerning patrons, the current level of service may be adequate. However, if you intend to compete with prestigious establishments such as the Peninsula, particularly with respect to high tea service, there are several areas that require improvement:
Service attentiveness: While your staff appeared engaged in preparing the dining area and enhancing the restaurant’s ambiance in anticipation of elevated recognition, they neglected to respond promptly to customers signaling for assistance. I notice a change in staff shifts in between lunch and tea service could contribute to the looseness of attention in the room today. Delay in beverage service: Our hot chocolate arrived approximately twenty minutes late and was served lukewarm. While personal preferences may vary,I'd prefer a hot chocolate but I understand recipes and temperatures differ. Staff hygiene and presentation: The conduct of some staff members, particularly the commis de rang/commis chef introducing each course, potentially needs some revision. Their close physical proximity to the table and guests, compounded created discomfort.
Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and attentive service is essential for any establishment aspiring to offer a refined dining experience. I hope these observations prove helpful as you continue to enhance...
Read moreDefinitely do not recommend this place for dinner. Perhaps it’s only afterthought from afternoon tea.
When we arrived restaurant was empty yet they left us waiting for 15-20 mins First course was salad, essentially supermarket pre cut bag of veggies with half egg on top.
Main course was rib eye steak, ordered medium rare but it arrived without any juice and completely stiff, we didn’t want to be too dismissive so tried to eat abit but every bite took good 20 seconds of chewing, in the end we decided to say something and replace at least one of the two steaks, it arrived even worse, no juice no blood impossible to chew, probably worst piece of meat I ever had. So we just gave up and said we are finished, noneed main course. Don’t know how is it even possible to ruin steak like that, is it all precooked under a heater ? Really wonder.
Last one was a tea and dessert, thought that can’t go wrong in a place known for afternoon tea but somehow they managed to pick the worst selection with the driest pound cake with only good piece being chocolate with nuts.
Servise wasn’t great too as I mentioned first the wait, then while I was having main course they asked three times within 5 mins if we want more bread, at the end we had to wait forever to get the cheque as two staff were busting serving desserts and two just chatting by entrance.
In the end knowing they were not capable of serving main course still charged us full price, so full price for disappointing salad and dessert.
Crazy manager walked in, looked around, knew about the situation. Didn’t even walk over to say or ask anything.
Definitely should be replaced for even on quite evening all he did was stand in the doors, waste of money waste of...
