Nestled within the opulent Rosewood Hong Kong, The Legacy House stands as a shining example of refined Cantonese cuisine, particularly honoring the intricate flavors of Shunde. Awarded a Michelin star, this restaurant offers an experience that seamlessly blends tradition with modern elegance, making it a truly commendable dining destination in the city.

The ambiance at The Legacy House is a study in sophisticated comfort. The main dining room, designed by the acclaimed BAR Studio, is bathed in natural light during the day, transitioning to a warm and inviting glow in the evening. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking panoramic views of Victoria Harbour, creating a spectacular backdrop to any meal. The interior features rich, dark woods and contemporary Chinese accents, establishing an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate. Seven private dining rooms, each uniquely designed, offer an even more exclusive setting for special occasions.

The culinary journey, overseen by Chinese Executive Chef Li Chi-Wai, is a profound exploration of authentic Cantonese flavors, with a special emphasis on the fresh ingredients and intricate techniques of Shunde cuisine. Signature dishes consistently impress with their precision and balance. The Honey-Glazed Barbecued Pork is a standout, boasting a perfect char, tender meat, and a delightful sweetness that exemplifies classic Cantonese barbecue. Their Peking Duck is also frequently lauded for its perfectly crispy skin and succulent meat.

Beyond these staples, The Legacy House excels in its delicate seafood preparations, reflecting the coastal heritage of Taizhou. Dishes like the Minced Fish Soup with Fungus and Dried Tangerine Peel showcase subtle complexities, while seasonal offerings, such as their hairy crab menus (when available), are meticulously crafted, utilizing premium ingredients like those from Lake Tai. Even seemingly simple items, such as their handcrafted dim sum, are elevated through quality ingredients and artful presentation, demonstrating the kitchen's dedication to excellence.

The service at The Legacy House is consistently attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and offer seamless guidance throughout the dining experience, ensuring that every need is anticipated without being intrusive. This level of hospitality perfectly complements the exquisite food, transforming a meal into a truly luxurious and memorable occasion.

In essence, The Legacy House is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary tribute, delivering an authentic and refined taste of Cantonese heritage with grace and exceptional quality. It’s a definite recommendation for those seeking an elevated and satisfying dining experience...

Well deserved Michelin One Star restaurant The delicacy is yummy and delicious using well selected ingredients, fresh, great cooking techniques, well balanced taste, end results is very well refined quality dishes. That lotus wrapped rice is stunning with great level of aroma. The dessert Pomelo Sago dish is best in town. Well tuned on thickness, creaminess and yet well balanced. The razor clam with bamboo shot is super fresh, giant fresh razor clam and super refreshing bamboo shot.

Service is super attentive and giving us plenty of time between each dishes to enjoy the food. The 2nd seating was removed from our table based on our request to enable us to have the table all night long. The view is stunning and has the whole Victoria harbour in front of us.

The atmosphere is superb, very romantic and suits couple for festive season like Xmas. The whole restaurant is well decorated, tuned with the right lighting to enable you to see the food clearly and dark enough else where to give you the romantic feel

Given the above quality it comes with a high price but proportion to what you get. In short good value for money. Worth to enjoy dinner in this...

Simple yet sophisticated Chinese cuisine. They don't overly complex the flavors but everything was well balanced.

We had the Roasted Goose 👍 which the smokiness was very pungent and flavorful, highly recommend the Stir-Fried Fish Noodle 👍👍👍 it was al dente with "wok" flavor but not too salty, the Fried Oyster Omelette 👍 was fluffy but quite filling would recommend to only order if you're sharing amongst at least 4 people. The Steamed Spotted Garoupa Fillet with Rice Noodle & Garlic 👍👍 was light but the fillet was cooked perfectly and the rice noodle was chewy but absorbed all the flavors from the fish, only wished they had more of it! Deep-Fried Duck & Mashed Taro 👍👍👍also highly recommended, this is quite a heavy dish but the balance of the shredded duck with the taro was well balanced and the batter was more like a japanese style tonkatsu crust but it wasn't oily at all. the Minced Fish Soup👍 was recommended to us, but personally a little more fishy than my preference though there was heaps of ingredients.

Service was attentive and felt a little more laid back compare to other 5 star hotel chinese restaurants which I actually prefer. Expect...

disappointed. environment - nice harbour view but how come the window looked so dirty and blur? looked like heavily foggy outside but actually not. very dim light, hardly read anything on the menu. tables were too big and can never hear what the people at the opposite were talking, we never wanna shout across. staff - told me to lit on my mobile LED to read the menu, brilliant idea. shall they not realize it's too dark to read? or they instruct their customers daily to use the mobile LED? food - bbq pork was nice. fish noodles was nice. the pigeon and goose were grilled too dry, the most longed chicken (richie chicken) was terribly disappointed. has it been cooked too long? again it's dried, no grease no juice at all. like chewing newspaper. other food in the photos were just so-so. price - with the quality then it's in contrast very high, not worthy. much more Shunde cuisine out there in HK with better taste and price. it shouldn't be a level that Rosewood is offering. No thanks.
