Three on Canton — Restaurant in Kowloon

Wifey & I hit up our first Hotel Buffet in HK last night at @threeoncanton inside @marcopolohongkong 😊 . We gave this place a try because we managed to snag a great “BOGOF” promotion for dinner off the @klookhk platform 🙌🏻 . For the price point (because of the promotion) it was pretty decent value and they had what you’d expect of a HK buffet at this calibre. On the cold food side they had a selection of Alaskan Crabs, mussels, sea counch, abalone, salads and cheeses, plus a whole leg of parma ham. There was also a small selection of sashmi and sushi, plus a cold soba noodle station 🍣 . For hot food they had Soft shell crabs, Braised fish maw with goose feet, Peking Duck, Grilled Pineapple, Beef Wellington, Roast Pork/beef/lamb, Bbq pork ribs and more (too much to list)! 😅 . There was also a make your own noodles station, with your choice of either Laska or Clear Chicken Broth as the soup base 👌🏻 The desserts were fairly average - random assortment of cakes, fruits and Haagen Daz ice cream 🍨 . All in all I would say that the food was good for this price. There wasn’t anything super spectacular but on average across the board , I would say the standards are slightly above average (3.5/5?) . Three on Canton in Harbour City is an excellent choice for a team lunch. The service provided by the manager Shirley was outstanding - she was attentive and made sure the tables around us were well taken care of.

The buffet had a fantastic selection of fresh seafood. I started off with 8 pieces of shrimp, enjoying them with the tasty soy and chili sauce. After the first round, I felt so good that I went back and got another 8 pieces of shrimp (XD). They were incredibly fresh and flavorful. I also tried the scallops and beef, both of which my colleagues had recommended. The beef was tender and the scallops were cooked to perfection.

But the real highlight was the impressive dessert counter. There were so many tempting chocolate options, including a chocolate fountain and rich molten chocolate cakes. As a big chocolate lover, I was in heaven! The durian cake was also delicious, and I enjoyed pairing it with a scoop of creamy chocolate ice cream.

My colleague raved about the mille feuille as well, and the cheese selection was excellent. We were able to take advantage of the 35% off OpenRice promotion, which made our meal an even better value.

Had a unpleasant experience at the dinner buffet today, which was quite busy for a weekday as restrictions was recently lifted for dine in dinner. I initially requested for a sofa seat near the entrance and it was understandably unavailable when buffet started around 6.45PM. This led to me being seated in the area facing canton road. I then requested a change of table around 30 mins after being seated as I saw a empty table near the roast station around 7.30PM. A waiter nicely accommodated this. However, another waitress who was clearly in a sour mood had the audacity to bad mouth, saying things like why didn’t you switch tables earlier and obscenities etc. This totally ruined my mood for the rest of the dinner and being a founding member was the most unprofessional experience I encountered despite being a regular visitor of other venues of Marco Polo such as Lobby Lounge, Cucina and Savvy.
