I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant thanks to the passive aggressive, rude and unhelpful staff. Long story ahead as it was just that bad.
My father and I arrived around 11:50am for lunch and ordered 4 items. The first item (a plate of vegetables) arrived soon after. We started eating and eventually finished the whole plate, but our other 3 items still haven’t arrived. We waited for 15 minutes more and after some trouble, got the attention of a waitress to inquire about the remaining items. She immediately responded with some attitude by saying “it’s on the way” and told us to wait without even bothering to check with the kitchen or other staff. This was off to us as all the other tables around us that came later already had multiple dishes, some which were the ones we ordered as well. We waited for another 10 minutes before calling another waitress and asked her to double check our order to make sure it was sent to the kitchen properly. She assured us she would check with the kitchen and left to the back/staff room. When she came back to the dining area, she walked right past our table without giving any explanation. We had to wave her down again to ask for an update. Very passive aggressively, she told us that the kitchen forgot about it and was working on it now. By this point, we were so turned off by the service and wanted to just pay for the single dish and leave, so we asked for the bill and told the waitress that we would head out. She went to the staff area again and returned with our order slip that detailed the 4 items we ordered, as well as the times they were sent to the kitchen. Our vegetables (that we had eaten a whiles back) was sent at 11:54. The remaining 3 dishes weren’t sent to the kitchen until 12:30. It seems that the waitress who took our order slip when we first sat down didn’t properly input our order into their POS system so the kitchen didn’t start working on the other 3 dishes until almost 40 minutes after! And none of the staff were helpful in double checking with the kitchen, rather they were very defensively and rudely telling us that “it was coming”. During this whole encounter, not a single apology was given. I can’t even slightly justify it by saying it’s a miscommunication/language error because my father’s native tongue is Cantonese. This was purely bad service and attitude from the staff at the restaurant. And unfortunately, it wasn’t just one staff member who was lacking. When the remaining food eventually did arrive, the taste was subpar at best. The rice rolls were lukewarm, and the ho fan and spareribs were nothing special.
