Tokyo Street — Restaurant in Kowloon

成日聼倒香港食肆執笠 全部人北上 終於第一次體驗到 Walking into the empty store at 4pm, the lack of other customers set the tone for feeling something was off about this place. The state of restaurant was appalling. Dirty floors, chairs and tables. Air con was dripping so much 天文台 could have issued a 黃雨警告 for it. The entire place seemed to be only run by two people, and the waitress was in no rush to serve us.

When we asked if it was only the "下午茶 tea time set" menu we could order off of, the waitress said it was just that. But when other customers came after us, they waitress offered them a different option.

To be fair, they did just grab the menu themselves. Maybe writing our own orders down and handing them to her wasn't enough, we should have walked into the kitchen and cooked our own meals. The food was mediocre at best. The salmon was slimy and not a very good cut (not much meat). The ramen was quite bland. The only good thing was the fried chicken, quite delicious.

In the photos, you can see the way she served us was very unusual. She just set the whole tray down in the middle, no announcement of what the food item was and expected us to self-serve.

Food was well presented, tasted ok.

When I called to make a reservation, the staff was impatient and impolite (but not rude). The bare minimum was achieved in order to complete a booking request. When we placed an order via QR code, one of the ordered items was no longer available. A staff informed us of this as they were passing by with no pleasantries and no address - it felt like I overheard a message that so happened to be for our table. Tea was not served until much later. Staff was not proactive enough to refill empty teacups. Even after requesting for it, it too way too long. Food took way too long between...

Food taste are ok, nothing special but the staffs there were too much enjoying their conversation nobody come to approach me until there’re two students came next to me, then the staff greeted them. One staff picked up the phone when it’s ringing in front of me, I waived my order paper in front of his face for so long& looked at me few times, finally he grasped it. Never again...
