New cafe alert in Tai Kok Tsui!

@wanland.hk is a minimalistic Taiwanese-style cafe with a pet-friendly outdoor dining area. Not only do they have a special fur menu, they even offer desserts from famous IG cakeries @solight.studio and @namelessbutfamiliar.

The savory menu is quite limited though with holiday and weekday availability, but everything we ordered was super delicious. Or maybe we were just too famished after waiting to be seated for late lunch.

[Hojicha Latte] Sooooo cute! This adorable latte art immediately captured my heart when it was served to our table. The smoky hojicha taste was quite strong with a pleasant nutty aroma.

[The Good Day Croffle] As most of the desserts were already sold out that day, we opted to try their in-house croffle. OH. MY. GOD. Probably one of the best croffles I’ve ever had. Topped with delectably smooth vanilla ice cream and a huge strawberry that was a tad too sour for me, the croissant-waffle hybrid had the perfect butteriness and crunchiness.

[WANLAND Club Sandwich] Bursting full of ingredients, the club sandwich consisted of roasted chicken thigh, scrambled egg, cucumber, tomato and cabbage. The thing that set it apart was the peanut butter spread on the toast adding a distinctive sweetness to the umami-rich sandwich.

[Holiday All Day Breakfast] Loved that this dish was loaded with all my favorite food - juicy portobello mushroom, seared tomato, smoked salmon, avocado, seasoned scrambled egg, bacon, sausages and a petite salad. Our only suggestion to make it even better would be to switch out the buttered toast for a croffle, but that would be asking too much for this price XD

Verdict: While our visit was beyond enjoyable, we probably won’t be back so soon unless they (hopefully) add more variety to the menu!

The toast is enormous and it feels very Taiwan. Although the toast is a bit dry after toasting, the fillings are very good. It is spread with mayo and peanut butter. The peanut flavour pairs very well with the savoury filling. The scrambled egg are soft and the chicken thigh is moist, but the portion of the chicken is a bit small. With the shredded cabbage and other veggies, it makes the toast quite light. Mentaiko mochi cheese croffle is phenomenal. It is piping hot with chewy mochi. The richness of the mentaiko matches well with the crunchy croffle. Also ordered 2 special and signature coffee. Iced shakerato consists of a fruity espresso and Taiwan sour plum. Although they matches, I am not a huge fan of the sourness. Mount Fuji apple coffee suits my taste more than the shakerato. The combo of apple and coffee are sweet and...
