The xiao long bao here is nice and truely the taste of china. It is easy to get here as it is just inside the metro station of Nanjing West road. But I have known of this shop based on the shop in Yu Garden. Nice atmosphere and design.

Famous Xiao Long Bao restaurant with a long queue. Took about an hour before I was ushered into the restaurant.

The restaurant as expected was packed with patrons all ready to dig into their famous Xiao Long Bao.

Ordered the pork Xiao Long Bao, Crab meat and roe Xiao Long Bao and a giant crab Xiao Long Bao. Took about 20 minutes before the food came. I wanted to love it because of the hype and history surrounding it. Well, it was just average. Nothing to write home about.

Try it if you must, but my advice is to skip this line and go try Lai Lai Xiao Long which...

The kao fu was very good. Fried shrimp ball was good, too. Fried veggie spring rolls were a little soggy on the underside.

The xiao long bao was not as good as expected; the wrapper was thicker and stiffer than other places in Shanghai or Taipei, and the filling was pretty dense. Maybe it was an off day for the kitchen. A bit...
