I remember I've been here before some years ago, but I am not sure whether it was under the Baba's Station name. Anyhow I came here for late lunch and it is still the small cramped place with the capacity of no more than 10 customers. The set lunch I had, Chicken Biryani, is cheaper than a la carte and comes with a free can of soft drink, but its portion is a lot smaller than the latter. The biryani itself (fried rice as an imitation) was very wet with hints of coconut milk and I don't like it. I also order one if the tea break entry, the Mini Lamb Burger, in which the meat patty was actually the spiced minced meat for Seekh Kebab, but topped with large fluffy bun and melting cheddar cheese, this spicy fusion burger actually tasted good. Overall the food quality is just about average, and main dishes are much more expensive than the Indian restaurants in Kwai Chung, but there are odd items such as the lamb burger are pretty good, so it's worth spending a lazy afternoon here for tea breaks. For main Indian dishes, though, you have better choices in Kwai Chung...
Read moreWent there with my local friend who is a foodie and found out how pathetic the food was actually (sorry to say ) first of all, upon asking, they said their menu is halal that too without having any evidence or proof e.g a halal certificate. They even sell pork there as well but anyhow, we still went ahead and placed our order. Chicken Biryani would be 0/10 A. Undercooked rice B. Smelly chicken Samosas with potato filling 4/10 A. Portion wise too less B. Thick and dry texture Vegetable Pizza 3/10 A. 2-4 vegetables the rest was FULL of cheese that’s it! Onion Bhajis 3/10 A. Just plain and oily onions coated with minimum gram flour Masala Tea ????/10 You could taste and tell it was store brought and poured in a glass with ice cubes overall, $300 plus dollars...
Read moreRead some reviews and it got high ratings but it's only so so. First the mango Lassi was waaaaayyy too sweet and sour. In fact it tasted like some sort of super sweet yogurt soda.. It doesn't taste like any mango Lassi I've ever tasted. Very bad.
The lamb kebab.. Thr meat was super tender. It was a winner. The fixings inside, however were a bit sloppy and not put well together. But overall it was quite good.
Chicken korma was ok. A little cheesy tasting rather than cashew like curry. Meat was tender.
Overall, not as good as the reviews say, but not too bad. A bit disappointing as this was my stay...
