Alll the restaurants (or at least a lot of them) in Usaquen are very fancy and it's clear the owners have put a lot of thought into the overall experience, and 7-16 definitely fits that mold.
The house bread - a type of focaccia with herbs and olive oil in too - was really good. We ordered the grilled asparagus and grilled provolone (literally, a block of provolone served bubbling in a cast iron skillet - see photo below) as starters. The asparagus (asparagii?) were great - lightly seasoned, very large spears, and very fresh. The provolone was also very good but I was hoping it would be grilled similar to the way it's served in Brazil - hard on the outside (charred a bit) and melted on the inside. It was still delicious but not exactly what we were expecting.
For entrees we ordered the ribeye (400g) and the lobster tail (280g). Both were also delicious although the lobster was a bit overcooked around the edges and the steak was a thinner piece and more fatty than I'm used to eating for a ribeye.
The service was very good as a few of the servers seemed to tag-team and stopped by to ask how we we're doing several times throughout the meal.
Overall a very good experience and highly...
Read moreVERY DISAPPOINTED! Yesterday, June 29th 2025, my family reserved the upper room of this restaurant for 24 people, with a month of anticipation for the celebration of the 80th birthday of our sister and our brother. We talked to the manager for the arrangements and agreed on a set menu with three options. The appetizers were so bad! Horrible palm hearts, dry and flavorless, and a torta de patatas that was watery, awful! One of the options for the main course, was grilled chicken. All of the guests that ordered that chicken, had to return it. It was so dry and hard, it was impossible to cut! The beef was tough and flavorless. The only passable dish was the lomo salteado but it came cold. For dessert, they gave us four portions of torta de almojábana and four slices of chocolate cake! For 24 people! Unacceptable! The bill was $250.000 pesos per person! Outrageous! Even with the wine, that price was too high! Nobody was...
Read moreThis steakhouse is literally a hidden gem. Very easy to miss, the entrance is a small door with no street sign. But once you find it, you’re in for a treat.
Their menu is huge, with plenty of steak options and even a brunch menu. Big portions. I ordered for the Ojo de Bife and it was delicious. I didn’t like their mushroom sauce, luckily they serve sauces on the side. The mashed potatoes were good and paired perfectly with the steak.
Now, for the downsides. The host could definitely be friendlier. Also, some tables have zero shade, so people end up moving around, trying to escape the sun.
That said, if you’re in the mood for a great steak, this place won’t disappoint. Credit...
