Arrive around mid-day, walk around the market, buy two or three handcrafts. Then go and have lunch and after that go to a local coffee shop to enjoy fantastic Colombian coffee. Most of the sellers are craftsmen/women and they make a living out of the weekend sells. Bring an umbrella and sunscreen, it's Bogota, after all.

For example, we bought mangosteens in 7 de agosto market for 10,000 COP per pound, but in Usaquén flea market the fruit vendors asked for 20,000 COP per pound. Nevertheless, we tried some empanadas for 6,500 COP each and chicken skewers for 8,000 COP each.
The market is held Saturday and Sunday, so if you're in Bogotá during a weekend, it's worth visiting. We took Uber on the way to the market and a taxi on the way back. The taxi driver told me the cost is 2,800 COP plus whatever comes up on his meter. The meter shows a number such as 73 and then he has a card that converts the number to pesos.
