51 Sky Bar — Restaurant in Cartagena

As someone who has been traveling all her life, but traveling professionally for the last 10 years, I have never in my life been treated, so unprofessionally at an establishment. I came with two friends last night and although the atmosphere was nice, it was the interaction with what I’m assuming is the manager that literally is making me rate this place one star. I understand the culture as a female here in this country, but one cannot assume that we are all alike, my friends and I are all professionals and I even own my own travel business so when I asked the manager because no one was coming to the table to serve us if I could order a bottle, I was not expecting to be treated the way I was. Because we were there to celebrate I ordered a some what expensive bottle of champagne and pointed it out on the menu because he could not hear me on which one I wanted. He then proceeded to tell me, but did you see the price first and I looked at him very confused because I was pointing to which one I wanted, and the price was right next to it, then he proceeds to tell me. Oh no, it’s not an issue. I just want to make sure you saw the price so again I looked at him very confused. The very fact that this man insinuated that I couldn’t afford the bottle is insulting. you should never make a client feel like that. If it wasn’t for the entrance fee, I had to pay in order to even get into this place. I would’ve just walked out because at this point if you’re questioning my money then you don’t need it either. We came across this place on TikTok and wanted to give it a try since the ambiance and drinks looked good! Almost every video said you needed to have a reservation to get in. We didn’t have a reservation but decided to try at least since we were leaving soon. Luckily we got in I’m assuming it was since it was a Sunday night and not as busy as this place seems to be on a Friday & Saturday night. The view was amazing we did have to pay I believe 60.000 cop pp to enter but all worth it the drinks, views and food were great. We were greeted with a welcome drink and then went upstairs to the bar, where we came across a girl who you could tell was just judging people by the looks, not sure if she thought we weren’t going to consume anything but said we couldn’t sit on the side sofas since it was for groups of 5 or more and it was just me and my husband. Although there were other couples sitting there with only 2 ppl in there party. Which don’t get me wrong I completely understand but when it’s slow and you have more than 10 tables open it shouldn’t matter. The tables in the middle aren’t the most comfortable. The highlight of the night was getting service from a gentleman that if I can remember correctly his name was Faber he was the most polite genuine respectful server!
