El Bololó | Bowls del Caribe — Restaurant in Cartagena

After a few days of eating in Cartagena, you quickly realize that options for vegetables are limited. We were so happy to stumble upon this restaurant, as they offer various vegetarian and vegetable options in their dishes. Located in the heart of Getsemaní, the restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere just off of one of the busiest streets in the district. The dining area has multiple options for searing, open air and indoors, and includes an open kitchen. The waitstaff and kitchen staff were warm and friendly throughout our meal, checking in to make sure that the food was to our liking and chatting with us as our meal was prepared. We ordered the fish bowl, vegan bowl, and smoothie bowl. Each dish was unique and delicious. The fish was particularly well seasoned, and their interpretation of falafels was innovative and yummy. The opportunity to eat fruit and vegetables with our dinner was a welcome change to the many restaurants offering traditional Cartagena fare. We left very satisfied with our meal. I highly recommend the restaurant to those traveling in the area and looking for something different and affordable to eat...

The cutlery and interior is playful and fun, service with a smile (I feel right at home). I had the veggie bowl which was diverse, flavourful, bursting with colour, slightly disappointing portion size, the rice was still hot when I received my food (which took less than 10 minutes to prepare) and cooked to perfection.

Due to the small portion, I later endeavoured to order a smoothie bowl that (to my disappointment) really didn't match up to the savoury bowl. It was super watery and just not creamy or smoothie like at all. Still tasted great though. Would recommend this place but really wish the savoury portions were larger and the smoothie bowl...

I recommend anyone going to Getsemani one day should stop by.

As I already told you Howard and Alma, that was by far the best bowl I've had in my entire life! I don't know how you did that, but the falafel tasted like something I've never tasted before. Absolutely amazing.. and just so you know, I've had many different falafels in my live. Not forgetting the fruity mustard. 👌
