Café de la Trinidad, located in the bustling tourist area of Getsemaní, Cartagena, seems to thrive largely on its prime location. Its proximity to popular tourist attractions draws in a steady flow of visitors, but beyond this geographical advantage, the café struggles to impress.

The air-conditioned room is a significant letdown. Given Cartagena's high humidity and heat, one would expect a more inviting and comfortable indoor space. Instead, the air-conditioned section feels outdated and lacks a modern touch, making it a less appealing option for those looking to escape the sweltering weather. Moreover, this room has no windows to the outside, which would be a pleasant addition. The absence of windows makes the room feel very secluded from the rest of the restaurant and the outside world, missing out on the vibrant atmosphere, street performers, and views of the cathedral that define Getsemaní. Why the management hasn’t updated this is beyond me.

The menu offers a moderate selection of dishes, but the quality of the food is inconsistent. The dishes take time to come out, and when they do, it’s either hit or miss. The fruit selection seems on par with the standard for Cartagena and is quite delicious. However, other items like pizza take much longer than expected, testing diners' patience. Great location but not worth the poor service and awful food. AVOID THIS PLACE. Better to go across the street or next door. My order came out literally soaked in grease which made it inedible. When I spoke to the “manager/chef” he said too bad, placed it in a to go box and still tried to charge me for it. A good manager would try to resolve the problem. I agree with other reviewers that the service is slow and awful and other people also commented on how greasy so I’m not the only one. They stiffed me on change and were hoping I didn’t notice, they gave the missing money back so fast after I brought it up that it was funny

Tried to distract me with small talk as soon as the bill paying process started. Talking up my tattoos and outfit, right after ignoring me the entire rest of my meal

Like I’m friendly and a tourist but I’m not stupid. Charge me what I ordered and give me back the correct change; look at the other reviews and they do this shady bill stuff all the time.
