I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Restaurante Kazabe. Initially, I planned to have my birthday dinner here as I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and it was in walking distance to my hotel. I ended up coming the day after my birthday but it would have been worthy of a celebratory dinner.
I had ÑOQUIS DE ÑAME COLORADO for my appetizer. It was local sweet potato gnocchi and the sauce really elevayed the dish. I chose ARROZ DE CAMARÓN Y COCO for my entree. It was slightly salty but still delicious as the rice had a savorybut sweet flavor. For dessert, I had PORTAL DE LOS DULCES which was a yucca cake with ice cream.

Read moreI happened to stumble upon Kazabe when we stayed in Bocagrande in Cartagena. We wanted to try a spot off the main avenue in Bocagrande and stumbled upon it— the ambiance was amazing, live bands, and a warm welcome. Our server Jose Julio was SO incredible. He took the time to explain the history of the restaurant, give us advice, and was patient when we had questions. He was so attentive to all of our needs.
We were really impressed with the food quality and flavors— Kazabe embraces costeño and Afro-indigenous foods. The cocktails are outstanding— I’d fair to say they rival that of Alquimico, but in Bocagrande.
My food recommendations are: Mote de queso The fish in banana leaves
Anyway, thank you so much Jose and Kazabe for an...
Read moreGO TO THIS RESTAURANT NOW! I cannot speak more highly of the experience. If you are traveling to Cartagena for pleasure or business, this is worth the trip. The atmosphere is great — the decor is warm and welcoming and there was a wonderful musical presence when we visited on a Saturday night.
The food is a wonderful representation of Colombian culture. The sangria was phenomenal, and I recommend any of the appetizers. I’ve included some great pictures for reference. The restaurant was not full — our collective mission is to ensure it is always full! Please visit if you...
