Almirante Cartagena Hotel — Hotel in Cartagena

I rate this hotel a Minus 1. I am in Cartagena EVERY 2 months and decided to try the Almirante. WORST thing I could have done. We checked in, me and fiancée, both WITH passports. The day after checking in, the hotel security team rushed the elevator we were using to go to our room and asked my fiancée if she was registered in the hotel, what an embarrassment, other guests looking etc., like we had done something!! THEY ASKED HER THAT BECAUSE SHE IS A COLOMBIANA, SO, THEY, THE SECURITY TEAM, RACIALLY PROFILED HER!! I Spoke to the manager the following morning and demanded they make things right for the embarrassment they had caused us due their inept security team (my fiancée cried the whole night because of what happened with the security team !!) The manager agreed that the hotel was at fault, that the security team never should have done what they did and that they would 'comp' us our room charges for the stay to make things right!! The problem is, THEY DID IT, and they did it because it has been tolerated all along, that is my problem with the whole thing She (hotel manager) fully agreed that what happened NEVER should have happened so, they would make things right. Just today, about 10 days after our trip, I was making another reservation at this hotel (because the hotel manager had, I thought. handled everything professionally) when I received an email from the hotel manager saying that She would not honor the room comp but would adjust an overcharge of about $35 from our prior bill. When I asked WHY, SHE SAID that she Never Agreed to the room comp in our meeting in her office on the day in question (I have emails from her admitting their security teams fault!!!! ) Money is one thing but, lies / integrity are another!! I judge a company by their word which is their integrity and not by the cost of services more times than not. With that being said, I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone as, I do not trust them, totally mis-managed!!!! I stay at the Dan Cartagena ALL THE TIME and have NEVER had any problems of any kind, and the rooms are twice the size with Balcony's and the hotel is ON THE BEACH, no walking to the beach!! English: We are Colombians and we decided to make a family trip From Toronto Canada with everything included to our country. the experience was spectacular. The service of the reception was fast and cordial. Restaurant employees super helpful and cordial. the food very good, varied and with many options. The spacious and clean rooms. the bar although they only served it from 2 pm to 10 pm the drinks and liquors offered were varied and well prepared. Jonathan, Maura, William, Mary and many others made our week unforgettable. Cartagena is a very beautiful and safe city, with many places of interest and islands to visit, the weather is spectacular. Cartagena is starting with all-inclusive plans from Canada and they are really doing very well. It would be very good if they could make a special agreement and offer a piece of the private beach for the people staying at the hotel

Espanol: Somos colombianos y decidimos realizar un viaje familiar con todo incluido a nuestro pais. la experiencia fue espectacular. El servicio de la recepcion fue rapido y cordial. los empleados del restaurante super serviciales y cordiales. la comida muy buena, variada y con bastantes opciones. las habitaciones amplias y limpias. el bar aunque solo lo atendian desde las 2 pm hasta las 10 pm las bebidasy licores ofrecidos fueron variados y bien preparados. HELLO TO THE person who is responding to comments First off all you are not correct in your statements, We have your recording when we came to you to report that our money was stolen from the safety deposit box , You saw the recording from the security camera and agree that two maintenance guys went twice in our room with out our knowledge or permission. May I ask Why they went twice when we left the room to go and eat? You have no answer for that!!!! Your hotel is nothing but a scam .I believe you are involved in the scam with your maintance staff for robbing and stealing money from the guest lockers. You should be ashamed of your self for putting these kind of comments . You told us not to call the police because hotel will sort it out . We lost 700 dollars from our safety deposit box. Now we left Columbia and we are back in Canada 🇨🇦 your story is changed. You and all the thieves working in that hotel are thieves who are praying on the guests . I hope no one reading this form from other countries will come to your hotel. I strongly believe you are also part of robbing the guests and should be ashamed of your self.
