I visited Groove Kitchen tonight in San Jose, Costa Rica. Visiting from the U.S. We ordered the two specials—the ravioli with braised beef and another pasta with goat cheese and andouille sausage. After we finished, it was so good that we ended up ordering the beef dish with mushrooms. This is quite possibly the only authentic Italian spot, with beautiful dishes, good Italian wine, and a very fun atmosphere! In a neighborhood packed with options, Groove Kitchen's atmosphere, service and food quality is just out of this world. The owners make visits so much fun - one spinning vintage vinyl tunes, the other creating magic in the kitchen. The bruscetta course is just remarkable - as is the marlin carpaccio - both actual works of art you feel guilty digging into. Read moreFABULOUS. found this place entirely by accident and then came back immediately the next day because it was so great — so cute inside and the owners are so welcoming and funny — they host, cook, and spin records and had a lot of fun with us and we really appreciate their hospitality!
The food though is the most important part and it is DIVINE. you can feel the love and care in the food and how fresh the ingredients are — I basically NEVER buy Italian food because I always compare it to my mothers — this is the exception. It is divine. Got the special ravioli and tried the lasagna as well — incredible!
