Mantra Lounge — Restaurant in Carmen

I gave it one star just for the atmosphere. There are so many things that are exaggerated about this place. The food is not good and the quantity is very less compared to the price. In fruit salad, there are no fruits. Most of the drinks are sweet, very sweet. Did not expect that. Service is very chaotic. They forget the order and if you sit 5 more mins extra after you are done, they will ask you to vacate the table. The process to enter the restaurant is like you are entering FBI headquarters. The restaurant is on the 29th floor and you cannot directly enter in the elevator. You have to ring a bell, and a guy from the 29th floor will come down, verify your identity, and unlock the gates so you can enter the lobby. After that, you will enter the elevator and he will take you to the restaurant. I just request the restaurant owners to simplify the process by setting up a table at the ground floor lobby to expedite it. Very overpriced menu. Pésima experiencia, no lo recomiendo. El lugar se encuentra cerca de barrio escalante en un edificio muy grande, el bar esta en el piso 29. Para entrar hay que llamar para que algún empleado baje y abra la puerta, dando aire de exclusividad. En el momento en que el señor nos vió nos empezó a advertir sobre la conducta y el tratado qué íbamos a recibir por ser un grupo joven, del cual todos éramos mayores de edad. Nos dijo sobre el límite de tiempo, el cual eran 2 horas, le dijo a una de nosotros que era completamente prohibido tomar agua de su botella, básicamente no se puede consumir nada que no sea de ahí. Apenas llegamos podíamos ver que la vista era increíble, pero el mal trato fue más notorio. Cuando llegó el mesero nos trato con desinterés y sin ganas, cada uno se pidió su trago y comida. Los precios son demasiado elevados, los cócteles en 10 mil colones, el costo de la comida muy inflado también. Las bebidas llegaron en unos 20 minutos y la comida 1 hora y 20, eran nada más unos platos de sushi qué no deberían durar tanto. Todo siguió normal hasta el momento de pagar, donde sucedió lo peor. Yo me pedí un trago de whiskey qué costaba unos 6 mil colones, pero al momento de pagar me dijeron que me habían servido otro el cual precio era de 10 mil colones. Muy tranquilamente le dije al encargado de la caja que yo no había pedido ese y le pregunté qué podíamos hacer. Llamó al mesero el cual dijo que me habían servido el caro, ni me miró y se fue. Le pregunté al cajero qué teníamos que hacer, él me dijo que nada. No quize hacer más problema entonces pagué un trago qué no pedí y que además estaba casi al doble de precio. El desinterés y falta de respeto del servicio al cliente fue impresionante, algo que no esperaba de un lugar que parecía serio y profesional. Uno solamente está pagando por las vistas en este restaurante. Para terminar dejar claro esto, existe una gran diferencia entre ser un local exclusivo y ser un local molesto con sus requisitos mediocres. Su tiempo merece mejores...

One of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant in San José which is unfortunate it has a great view of the city. After ordering a cocktail I asked for a glass of water and he told me “we are prohibited from giving only bottled water. It is the policy of the place” I told him that Costa Rica prohibiting giving water is illegal. In large bars in the city they always serve you a cocktail and then water.
