Mary's Diner — Restaurant in Jacó

Wow! You wouldn't expect a, well executed, American diner in the heart of Costa Rica but here it is. I had to cone back for a second back-to-back visit. They passed with flying colors my chicken fried steak test. Great flavor from the steak and gravy. Perfectly cooked eggs. Great home fries O'brien. Perfectly toasted english muffin. On the second visit I had to try to items I noticed on the menu from my first visit. Chili cheese dog with fries but I added onion and the english muffin sandwich. The fries were Perfectly golden brown, hot and not greasy at all and properly seasoned. The Chili was delicious and the hotdog tasty. The english muffin sandwich was perfect. The chef is a veteran in his execution of everything i tried. The portions are perfect and the price is more the reasonable. I love a restaurant that gives the appropriate/large amount of starches (potatoes, rice and so fourth) per order. I always find it annoying or wrong for restaurants to barley give a decent portion of starches. You feel you are getting your money's worth and it makes the presentation better. The service is kind and prompt. The atmosphere is fitting and music selection. This diner should be in the dictionary under the definition of a proper American diner in or outside...

For the past 20 years, everything time that I go to Jaco (well, since the place owned by a elderly Canadian lady closed) I go to there to have breakfast. The couple that owns the place it's a tico-American, so the have made a great menu with the best options of both worlds.
