Definitely exceeded my expectations! Unassuming tucked in the corner of the parking lot outside the supermarket. All of the locals go here (my husband is from Monteverde). I am vegetarian and was surprised how many vegetarian options they had given most sofas don’t have very many if any at all. Would 100% recommend for breakfast or lunch. I ordered the veggie burger and it was the best one I had in all of Costa Rica! Patty was made in house. Also order a fresh natural juice, they were so delicious! My husband and his parents ordered casados and said they were the best in the town. Any negative reviews I’ve seen were people who ordered the steak. Steak in Costa Rica isn’t prepared in the same way as it is in North America so best not to order it unless you go to a very American restaurant. Don’t expect over the top service, this is more of a cafe style place. Food is prepared with love and care, you’ll see it in the details. I’ll be a repeat...

This tiny unassuming place will indeed surprise you. The food is pretty good. We went based on the recommendation from our hotel concierge and it didn't disappoint. We ordered casado - one with chicken and one with fish. I altered mine to substitute rice with vegetables. We enjoyed our plate thoroughly.

The Aztec soup was okay. I wouldn't recommend it but casado plates were filling and...

The food was fantastic - I would highly recommend the chicken rice or the chicken with white sauce...Its all freshly made and tastes fantastic..

The service on the other hand is not the best (but the food compensates for it)... They seemed to be overwhelmed since they have the same person cooking and serving. I would still highly recommend this restaurant and we eat there 2...
