Taco Station — Local services in Monteverde

Viewing a restaurant with this many 5 star reviews must be perplexing, but it's truly deserved provided you have the proper expectations. This is no fancy boutique. This is a family serving up home cooked, fiercely delicious food. The portion sizes are more than generous, and the flavours are deep. We ordered tacos (3 tacos on a high quality soft corn tortilla with loads of flavorful beef, veggies, and cheese), a "jocho" (incredible sandwich on wonderfully toasted bread with succulent pork in it), and the birria burrito (immense with rice, avocado, and a TON of beef. I didn't love the consome as I found it sweet, but they explained that it was for balance, and that they offered hot sauce for you to adjust to your taste. A lovely sentiment which reflects the kind of care and service), and two drinks (refreshing and clearly fresh...I still had a bit of mango skin in mine!)

They have a unique setup here, with ordering done through WhatsApp. However, they are prompt to respond and answer questions readily. Finding them is another bit of an adventure, be careful to not go too far or you'll be at the bottom of a gravelly, steep slope.

After a long day of adventures in Monteverde, our family didn’t feel like going out to eat, so we were thrilled to discover Taco Station offered delivery. I reached out to them on WhatsApp, and they were incredibly helpful and sweet — you can really tell they care about their customers. The delivery arrived right on time, despite the bad weather and the steep hills, and we were especially grateful to the delivery driver on his motorbike for braving those conditions.

The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone loved their meal! As a special touch, each order came with a little candy and a flower— such a thoughtful gesture. We truly felt appreciated as customers. Highly recommend Taco Station to anyone in the area — great service, amazing food, and a team that goes...

10/10 The owners love what they do and truly care about their customers! New location coming soon I hear so don't be weirded out by the current location. They do takeaway only and the pickup place is inconspicuous but very legitimate.

We visited Taco Station both days we were in Monteverde and it was so much better than any of the food around town. They remembered us from the night before and made sure we had a great meal, and even followed up with us afterwards to make sure our second meal was good too. Surprise, it was!
