We’ve heard good things but this was our experience…we were picked up an hour late in a van/bus (no jeeps) the ride was packed, the driver was impersonal. The ride to the lake was beautiful and felt safe. We got to the lake, our bags were off loaded and from then on No Information was given. 2 sad old ferry’s sat on the edge of the lake. None of us knew what to do, no guides talked at all. Eventually we all chose a ferry and got on. They were overloaded as well and did not appear too safe. The operator was the only staff on boat and never once spoke to anyone-not even any smiles, greetings or gestures. When we landed on the other end everyone got off there were 3/4 vans and again No-Zero-information given, eventually we located a person with ‘a list’ and we stood around until we could find our name and were gestured to which van to get on. Again the ride on the van was beautiful scenery. I know it cut time off our journey but this was our worst experience in Costa Rica. Very disappointing! Very disorganized and in no way professional or friendly. It was a VERY sketchy experience. I would not call this a tour or use the word Jeep. It was the only time I did not feel safe in 12 days in Costa Rica was with these people and on that ferry. A little customer relations would have made it worth it. The day we went it was raining mostly but that did not ruin the tour, no one can control that and in Costa Roca it rains-no worries. What ruined the ‘tour’( that word is used loosely) was the people and the lack of any interactions or directions. The only other tours we booked were a Tram at Monteverde they you which was a 10+experience, a coffee tour and National Park and they were all amazing! I should have taken photos of everything wrong with this experience but honestly at the time we were so stunned by it I...

We were picked up at our AirBnB and dropped off at the door of our next. Great service for a very reasonable price. If you don't have a car, highly recommend for getting between the two places! Added bonus the journey across Lake Arenal turns into a unintentional sightseeing tour, with the boat driver very happy to slow down for photos. The roads to Monteverde are an experience let's just say, but Jeep-Boat-Jeep are seasonal experts for navigating the roads. There's a stop off at a lovely restaurant for a cheap empanada which is needed. I wouldn't have done the journey any other way....
Read moreI’m not angry I’m just very disappointed… there is no jeeps. There is hot vans with minimal air con. My friends partner recommended this from when he was here years ago- because he said it was like an adventure. This was not. This was getting passed between 3 vans and a boat. Also I had chosen to pay in cash. When asked to pay I gave him colones- the currency of the country that we are in. He had no change for me in colones. My hostel couldn’t swap the money for me due to minimal change and now I have to pay the guy when he comes back early in the morning. Not the day I expected. Please rename yourselves van, boat, van,...
