We stayed in the hotel for two nights, the first night my roommate tried to take a shower and the hot water was not working. So, we went to the front desk. Almost an hour later, a man walked into the room without knocking. He went straight to the bathroom, without telling us who he was or why he was in the room. When he came out of the bathroom we asked him who he was, he was the "Plummer." He came into the room a few more times that night. He then said it was fixed. At that time, my roommate was ready to take a hot shower and so was I. My roommate hoped into the shower. Guess what, it was cold. That night it was so late, we just took cold showers. We closed everything (windows, doors, any possibly entrance) before we left the next morning. When we arrived back to our room we found a scorpion in our bed, and then another one in the shower. Upon later inspection we found that between the 2 sliding doors there was a gap of about one inch. We figured that is the only way animals, insects. spiders and rodents could enter. The only other way was through the ceiling which was 1 sheet of metal with many holes in it. We also (on the walkway outside to the main lobby past other peoples doors) saw three tarantulas. I understand that we were in a country where these species live. However, in all other resorts and hotels we stayed in we never encountered these things in our rooms and certainly not in our beds and showers. Staff was friendly enough, but it's never appropriate to walk into a room where teenagers are staying without knocking. General curtesy would have gone a long way. Though I plan to come back to your beautiful country, I'll never stay in this...
Read moreThere were multiple items that led to the two-star review. I was debating rating this hotel a one-star based on the fact that the bed mattress felt VERY old and compressed to the point where you could feel every spring, but the hotel staff were incredibly wonderful people, and very accomodating and helpful. The toilet would never flush the first time, the hand towel hanger was above the toilet paper hanger (which caused the toilet paper to get wet when reaching for the towel, and there was no decent place to relocate the towel), the toilet paper fell off the holder easily and fell into the trashcan below, and the out-building our room was in did not seem sturdy enough to withstand the high-velocity wind conditions (it would vibrate and shake with the wind and the high-low wind pressure would suck...
Read moreWe stayed at hotel Los Jardines for 3 nights recently and absolutely loved our time there. If you are looking for an authentic, family-run and homely experience you should look no further.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and always available and happy to do whatever would make our stay more enjoyable. Special shout-out to Ricardo and Gloriana at the reception desk who went above and beyond in helping us organise our activities and providing pertinent advice.
There was daily room service, the beds are comfortable, the shower is big with lots of hot water and even a hairdryer ! Everything was very clean. There is a restaurant and bar in house (with breakfast included).
We would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly encourage others to do so who want to support a small...
