There was an elderly man seating guests and it felt like he was welcoming us into his home for dinner. The place was cozy and the service was very warm and friendly. They start you off with a simple salad buffet from the free salad bar, and bread. The bread was a pleasant surprise as they provided more than one kind. For mains, I ordered the grilled sea bass (I thought it looked more like sea bream as it looked rounder than sea bass, but no complaints! It was still great) with grilled vegetables. My dining partner had the mussels and potato wedges (he had asked for baked potato but it may have been a translation issue, we didn't fuss, the wedges were good). We stumbled upon Konoba Mendula while exploring the quieter parts of Bol, and what a find it was! Truly one of the best meals we had during our stay on the island. Warm, attentive, and knowledgeable – he made the whole experience even more memorable. If you're in Bol, Restaurant Mendula is an absolute must. Worth the walk and then some. Don’t...
Read moreCan’t fault this place. Stumbled across it as we’d booked accommodation nearby for a one night stay. Prices looked normal compared to the prevalent extortion near the town centre and it really didn’t disappoint. I’d longed for beefsteak for the reasonable €22 but they’d sadly sold out (we did arrive late). Had lamb instead and it was cooked to perfection. Very generous portions and friendly service. If you’re fine with basic decor, slightly worn tablecloths , very decent homemade red wine at only €15 per litre, warm welcome and fresh, home-cooked food, you cannot go wrong. You probably won’t find better value in Bol (€80 feast for family of 4). Give it a go, you can...
