I arrived in front of the restaurant at 11 PM and asked if they were still open. The waiter kindly told me that they were (the schedule showed closing time at midnight). It was just me and my girlfriend. We sat down, the waiter brought us the menus, and we ordered drinks at 11:10 PM.
Two minutes later, a waitress came to ask if we were ready to order. Since it’s a bar & grill, I specifically came to have some grilled food. I was deciding between the boneless steak and the giant pork chop. When I told the waitress I wanted the pork chop, she replied: “Just so you know, the pork chop takes 20 minutes, and the kitchen closes in 15 minutes, so please choose something else.”
At that point, my excitement was gone. I said fine, I’ll have a steak. She didn’t even ask me how I’d like it cooked. And I know very well that a rare steak (which is how I usually eat it) does NOT take 20 minutes to make – I’ve been working in the industry for over 8 years.
I was upset because the whole reason I came – to eat what I wanted – wasn’t possible. They never informed me beforehand, which would have been the right thing to do. They simply told me they were open, let me order drinks, asked if I was ready to order, only to then tell me I could only choose from pasta or salad.
So, I ended up ordering Spaghetti Bolognese, the only pasta I like, and only because I had no other options. This wouldn’t have been such a big deal if, after ordering two portions of pasta (since meat wasn’t an option because the kitchen was closing – something they failed to mention at the start), the food didn’t take forever. Guess how long we waited for what turned out to be the worst pasta I’ve ever had? Over 30 minutes!
I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece since it’s a bar & grill, but come on – after being told a pork chop would take 20 minutes, I waited 30+ minutes for two plates of pasta, which were honestly terrible.
Anyway, I’m leaving this here because I’m a real food lover, and I enjoy places with good food and good service. Unfortunately, there was no service, bad food, and poor communication. I don’t know what the waiter was thinking. As someone who works in this industry, I know how kitchens and service work: if the kitchen “closed” in 15 minutes, but I got my food after 30, then who even cooked it?
I live in Ayia Napa and have been to all the restaurants here. This one was one of the last on my list to try, and I’m very disappointed. The worst 65...

Frankie’s Bar & Grill in Ayia Napa quickly became my go-to spot this holiday — and honestly, it deserves all the praise.
Let’s start with the beer: exceptional. I sampled both the local Keo and Stella Artois, and each pint was poured perfectly — crisp, ice cold, and served in their proper branded glasses. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — the waiter mentioned they clean the beer lines every day, and you can definitely taste the difference. Safe to say, I was in Frankie’s almost every afternoon for a pint (or two!).
We also ate dinner there several times, and I still can’t stop thinking about the beef brisket baguette — hands down, the best I’ve ever had. Tender, juicy, packed with flavour — just incredible.
Frankie’s is more than just a bar — it’s a place where the quality speaks for itself, the staff genuinely care, and the atmosphere is always welcoming.
Best beer in Ayia Napa — no question. If you're in town, do yourself a favour...

Bruschetta and Cake were alright.
The service was pretty bad. When a customer asks whether the place has sth. then it can be expected that a polite answer will come back in return. What we’ve received was a “No!” That’s it.
Then another waiter tries to have a small talk with us but none of us could understand him as his pronunciation was so difficult to understand.
He then out of touch asked one of us where he came from (originally not the nationality but ethnically) just to tell him he has some people working for them as well. Seriously?!
Serving drinks while dropping things on the table in a very unfriendly manner is a way of showing we were definitely not welcomed.
Racism, unfriendliness in this century and in a city that mainly has tourists is very...
