Discovery, but of a very, very, very tasty kind (real one, not a tourist trap) We found the place just by walking small alleys back from the center to our hotel, but what a tasty find this was! Very inconspicuous, located in the middle of nowhere, just a few tables, low-key interior open to the street - wooden tables with oilcloths, older wainscot on the wall. Local place serving wonderful local food - lots of tasty meats, including the meze option (a little bit of everything/"tasting menu") and a wide variety of kebabs - served either in pita bread or on a plate. The taste was wonderful - way, way better than in some of the tourist-trap-restaurants we tried around the city. You have to try the local sausage (sheftalies) there. Really friendly staff/owners. Beer and vegetarian options available. Prices really affordable. Been there twice and will definitely come back...
Read moreWhat a lovely authentic place, what an atmosphere! We went there on our last day in Cyprus, and we knew it would be the best end of our January holiday... Owners, chefs, and everybody else there treated us like a family in their own home. ❤️ Chef knows how to season his dishes, sheftalia was the best one we tried so far in this country. Service? You can't ask for more... we love you so much for your kindeness. We came in busy Monday, but still been served like a big VIP's. 🙂 Place is allocated about 10 minutes walk away from Lazaris church (town centre), but trust me, is worth it, and you go through lovely narrow local streets. Thank you Angela and Yiannis, it was a biggest pleasure to meet you!!! We had calamaries, mixed chicken dish, Cyprus coffes, and a.delicious dessert. Then we have been gifted two shots of local specialty. All the best for you...
Read moreTHE best place to eat if you want traditional Greek food. Very well priced and the food is delicious. Small place but there's parking just across the way. It's a family run taverna that's just so welcoming. Yiannis is such a nice man and everything is cooked fresh from local produce. The place is spotlessly clean and so friendly. So if you want to take a break from the tourist type foods and go authentically greek this is the place to go. You can even take it away if you prefer to eat on your terrace or poolside. They all speak English really well so there's no worries about communication. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Oh and did I mention the chips? I'm not a chip fan but these home made chips...
