Yesterday was our first time in Paul. Unfortunately the impression of a restaurant was spoiled in the first 5 mins, when we were going to make and order and the onion soup that I was going to order as a starter “finished” because the restaurant was busy. We made alternative order and I went to the toilet upstairs and found it… messy is the best word (and speaking frankly it was worse than a public toilet on the beach with paper pieces, dirt and hairs being all over the place) The cabin didn’t even had toilet paper, imagine! I was speechless.. I went down to the guy on the bar and expressed my dissatisfaction and dissapointment, as well as a strong need to provide their cabins with toilet paper - and was totally understood and assured that it all must be solved soon. My feelings were overwhelming. But no - I was not even offered a compliment from the restaurant larer on, looking ahead I can tell you. I followed to our table. The order was already made and they brought the starter - cold bread not even fresh with herb butter. The order took quite long, around 20 minutes total and the food was not bad. It was just normal. We went on with desserts expecting something extraordinary. Again failed. First we were told that 2 desserts we wanted to order have finished (as well as an onion soup) And we again found alternative. Which was again below expectation. Napoleon was not bad but for the extra sweet topping that we scratched out. Lemon tart was on the level of a coffee shop. Simple and just laying lonely on the plate - without any decoration . Nothing interesting at all. I want to say a word about waiters - they were good and tried their best and it was not their fault so we left tips. But the management of the “restaurant “ must have been aware of what’s going on. And it...
Read moreMy husband took me for Valentine's Day dinner and drinks and our server David was so attentive and responded so positively when we asked what he would recommend. When we arrived all the staff were lovely and welcoming as well. David was patient as we enquired about the menu and gave us great insight into what could be served. He also brought us a beautiful Shiraz and was openly happy about how much I tried and loved their Cypriot local Shiraz which was lovely. The food was absolutely french and as delicious as if it had been served in France herself! The portions were very healthy and I took a happy bag home with me! My only criticism is that the macarons for dessert had been frozen and not fresh so next time I will try another dessert but it was so wonderful! The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful and they gave us a locket to put on Limassol bridge for valentine's day! This was an unexpected and truly romantic touch this restaurant gave us on Valentine day which we were both shocked and absolutely adored ❤️ I will be brining all my friends and relatives back to Paul's for more wonderful dining and thank you again David who really made our night and spoke about your friends in my home country Scotland, I loved that we chatted...
Read moreUNACCEPTABLE. If we knew this place was like this we would never have went. Service on a Wednesday evening was horrendous. The place was 30% capacity, but still waited 4 minutes to receive menu. Might seem long but OK, we pass. We ordered a bottle of wine and the first incident was how they threw the ashtray on our table, careless. 2nd was the untrained staff who filled my glass wine to the TOP of the glass rim and my friends 1/4 of the way(not even tasting the wine at the start). 3rd was us waiting for the bill to come inorder for us to pay 10-15 minutes. After all these 3 incidents, when we payed we kindly complained (when she asked us how it was) that service could have been better, the staff etc. After we payed and started walking away, the lady(hostess) came running after us and told us that they aren't paying them, long hours etc (which we understand) and the cherry on top was after the explained herself she told us in Russian "idi nahui". Those who knows what it means, they will know. UNACCEPTABLE. NEVER AGAIN. UNEDUCATED...
