Really disappointed. The way we’ve been treated today ruined what could’ve been a nice experience. I have a gluten allergy and if I eat foods containing gluten I become unwell. I decided to choose the Greek salad as it stated on the menu it did not contain gluten. I looked at the ingredients (feta cheese, olives, tomato, rocket leaves etc) and it all seemed fine. Just to be doubly sure I asked the waiter when ordering if the salad contained gluten, he wasn’t overly confident but he said no. When my salad arrived I was a bit shocked to see bread on top of the salad. I asked the waiter if the bread was gluten free, he said the bread was ‘black bread’ and I asked again if the bread was gluten free. It seemed to really confuse him. He obviously didn’t fully understand what I was asking re gluten free. I told him then about my gluten allergy. He then said I will make you a fresh salad without the bread. Sure enough a fresh salad was brought out and the salad itself was nice. The worst part came when I was brought the bill. I had been charged for 2 salads!!! I said there was a mistake on the bill. He said I was being charged for 2 as I didn’t tell him about my gluten allergy until after the first salad had been served. I said I would not be paying for the salad as i had asked the waiter if the food contained gluten and the menu had stated the allergens present - gluten was not one of them. He then reluctantly changed the bill. I’m actually reeling at the thought of them trying to double charge me for their mistake. They really need to get waiters that understand English and if they don’t then to say they didn’t understand what I had requested. They need to update their menu, if something contains bread, then clearly state it on the menu and don’t claim that it’s gluten free when it’s not. They need to understand that food allergies are serious and could potentially make someone unwell. My husband was furious and gave the waiter a right good telling off for trying to double charge us for their mistake. It’s fair to say we won’t...
Read moreI visited Alea All Day, a popular spot known for its cocktails and shisha. While the overall experience was enjoyable, there were a few aspects that left room for improvement.
Let's start with the positive. The staff at Alea All Day were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They greeted us warmly upon arrival and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Their attentive and personable service certainly added to the overall atmosphere of the place.
Now, onto the cocktails. While some of the cocktails were delightful and well-crafted, there were a few that fell short of expectations. It seemed that the quality and consistency varied depending on the specific drink ordered. This inconsistency was a bit disappointing, especially considering the reputation of Alea All Day as a place known for its cocktails.
One particular hiccup occurred during our visit when the staff initially prepared our cocktails differently from what we had ordered. It was a bit frustrating, as we had specific preferences and were looking forward to savoring the flavors we had selected. Additionally, without any prior notice, we were asked to move to another table because the one we were sitting at was reserved. It would have been more considerate if the staff had informed us about the reservation beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.
However, I must commend the staff for their efforts to rectify the situation. They acknowledged the mix-up and kindly invited us for a round of drinks to make up for the inconvenience caused. This gesture demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction and their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure a positive experience.
Alea All Day is a place worth visiting if you're seeking a lively atmosphere, refreshing cocktails, and the option of enjoying shisha. While there may be some inconsistencies in the cocktail quality and occasional miscommunication regarding reservations, the friendly staff and their efforts to rectify any issues contribute to an overall...
Read moreThis place used to be good years ago, now I think it's very overrated. We visited this place again a couple of years ago, and the food was very average, and the prices were just okay. We got a pitta sandwich, the pitta was burnt and hard, and the chips were okay. We visited this place again today, and we were very disappointed. We got the french toast with poached eggs. Extremely small portions, not even a proper salad as a side and not filling at all. The prices were ridiculous for the kind of dish we got. I don't mind paying more for something that is good, and it leaves you satisfied, but that was not worth it. The staff were polite and you have the view of the sea which is always nice, but there are other places with similar view. Maybe the rest of the dishes are better, but the ones we tried were not great. We won't be visiting this...
