Jayanta Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

A disappointing and uncomfortable experience. Disappointing because we had expected great things given the reviews. Uncomfortable because of the manner of the proprietor. The form-fitting outfit made it seem like she had come straight from the gym and didn’t have time to change. All the rest of the staff were dressed in casual uniforms indicating the restaurant. I didn’t like sharing her cigarette smoke when she smoked near our table. And she was very defensive when we commented that one of the dishes did not taste right; it had a strange metallic taste. Apparently it was our taste that was at fault, not the dish. We were not offered an alternative and the offending dish was not taken off the bill. We chose to pay up and leave rather than argue the point with a defensive and also somewhat aggressive proprietor.

The sheesh kebab was hard. The chickpea dish tasted very strange. The poppadoms were fine. The chicken...

I love to visit Jayanta Indian Restaurant, there is a great menu and the food is always wonderful. and the staff friendly. You can always ask for advice on food selections and the food will be cooked to your requirements, so you can always ask the the strength of your dish to be hotter than normal if that's what you want. I have visited this restaurant many times, with my husband and with friends, and recommend it frequently to holiday makers, its that good. There is a great drink selection available too, so you can always find something nice to go with your meal that suits your mood. The staff are friendly and helpful, it's always service with a smile here. As far as prices go, they are reasonable too, and the portion size is good, so make sure you are hungry. I highly recommend Jayanta if you fancy a great curry...

Me and my wife got off a boat trip in pafos Harbour, feeling very tired and hungry we felt like somthing to eat, due to being out at sea for most of the day we didn't look our best to which a couple of restaurants turned us away which we were disgusted at especially as most of the establishments do rely on tourism, after laughing the situation off we asked for a table for 2 at jayantas and they could not of been more welcoming, the hole team made us very happy, the food was sublime the drinks were fantastic and we will definitely be returning, so thank you.

And for the Chinese restaurant on the front, (no names) that turned us away.... my wrist watch I had on is worth £6000 and my wife had around £3500 of jewellery on. Dont judge a book...
