Worse experience ever. After finding a cockroach in the table we decided to move into another table but found out there were more around the floor. Feeling uncomfortable to continue the dinner we politely asked to cancel the order which sadly it was already served. The owner himself came after to ask for an explanation which, again, we politely provided and asked for the bill due to the inconvenience. The waitresses seemed not only to find the situation very funny but also questioned our experience before with cockroaches and excused the situation by saying that there will be no other place to find those insects around. This is when you guys completely failed on service and not only by not providing an apology but also by making laugh about your own customers and blaming for the feedback provided. I also point the British lady who turned out to be the rudest and most unprofessional waitresses I have ever had the unpleasant chance to meet. As a professional also on the industry I strongly recommend you to reconsider your words and manners and your colleagues when dealing with unhappy customers and if you really find this profession as a joke then also to reconsider also what to do for living. For the record also, we paid for the starters and drinks (untouched). The complaint is not about being charged or not even for the cockroaches inside, but purely for such a disgraceful treatment that I have never ever experienced in my...

If you've been wandering around Nicosia wondering where the locals actually eat (not the tourist traps with the suspiciously identical menus), let me point you towards The Alkion Family Restaurant. This is the kind of place where "family restaurant" isn't just marketing fluff—it genuinely feels like you've been invited to someone's home, except the cooking is better than your mum's. Sorry, Mum. 🍽️
The pasticcio here is an absolute masterpiece. Layers of pasta, perfectly spiced mince, and that creamy béchamel that makes you question every life choice that didn't involve eating here sooner. It's the kind of dish that makes you go quiet for a few bites because talking would be disrespectful to the food.
But here's the real plot twist: the prices are actually fair. Not "fair for tourists," but genuinely reasonable. You can have a proper traditional meal without needing to remortgage your house afterwards. 💸
The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and refreshingly unpretentious. Staff are lovely, service is attentive without hovering, and the whole vibe just works. This is proper Cypriot hospitality at its finest.
Pro tip: Come hungry. The portions are generous, and you'll want to do that pasticcio justice. Absolutely worth...
Read moreUnfortunately, I have to rate this restaurant poorly.
While the food itself was very good, everything else fell short. Our order was likely lost, and we had to remind the waiter that we’d been waiting over 40 minutes just for starters. They finally arrived after about an hour, and then we were told they couldn’t fulfill our main course because our preferred dish—Pastitsio—was almost sold out. We needed three portions, but only two were available. We chose this restaurant specifically for that dish, so one of us had to change their order.
To make matters worse, the long-haired waiter told us we should be grateful he found a solution. It felt like we were being blamed for the shortage. The total wait time exceeded two hours, which is unacceptable.
At the end, we received incorrect bills. I was charged for items I didn’t order, and my total was over €20 too high. It took two corrections before I received the right bill.
No one even apologized for this. It was our last evening in Cyprus, and instead of enjoying our final night in Paphos, we spent it waiting for dinner. It was very...
