Lovely food and restaurant, we were fed up with the hotel food/buffet so asked the hotel reception staff to recommend somewhere that was not geared up for tourist and more locals, they recommended this place.

Food is good, service is good and the restaurant (see photos) is lovely.

They also have Brewdog on the drinks menu, a bit expensive but after drinking nothing but Keo and Leon for 2 weeks I would have paid double just to have an IPA.

One thing to note is if sitting outside you are pretty close to the road and they do tend to speed up and down the road so just be mind full if you have kids. They will want to walk over to the water feature which is pretty close to the entrance. This staff did warn us about this which is good.

It can get a bit warm so make sure you get a table under a fan and ask the staff to turn the fan speed up.

I would also recommend ordering a cab to pick you up rather than walking along the front to the taxi rank. You can walk it and the view is nice but just be prepared to have a load of bar staff walking up to you saying things like "You coming in tonight mate, free shots" etc etc.

Highly...

Good food, was really looking forward to the meal. 3 starts as jokes from the waiter were quite on the line and the last time he came over he looked at us and did 'huh' and walked away - jokingly I hope, but that was us already finished with the meal and waiting for someone to come over to ask for the bill. My husband asked another waiter for the bill which happily helped us and also cleaned up the plates. We had a feeling that somehow we were unwelcomed from the start with the first waiter even tho we booked a table and never did or said anything wrong. I understand that may be his way of serving in an arrogant joking way and maybe some people get it but there were few other tables with the same faces of confusion as we did. Overall, compliments to the chefs as food...

I'm not one for leaving food but this was by far the worst meal I've ever eaten out. It came with high recommendations but failed to deliver in all aspects. The servers are rude, sarcastic and downright miserable, there is no attention to detail when setting the table or serving your food; cutlery is just thrown down in front of you as is the food. We ordered red wine but were given rosé. I ordered Kleftiko but most of it was grisly fat and shards of bone as pictured which has broken one of my teeth. It was served barely warm and not in any sauce as it's supposed to be. A tourist trap of a restaurant. You will leave feeling underwhelmed, hungry and ever slightly ripped off. A very expensive meal once I add in the...

It’s my 8th time coming here over the years of visiting Paphos. I first discovered Mandra Tavern in 2015, and I always come to book a table whenever I’m on holiday. The service is always perfect and the waiters are so lovely - always happy and willing to make jokes. The food is gorgeous, and I HIGHLY recommend the Kleftiko - it’s slow cooked lamb that just falls off the bone. There are a few small pieces of bone and fat, so if you’ve not eaten something like this before, please be aware! On my last visit I suddenly became unwell, but we were able to take our wine and dish with us. They were very respectful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better reaction, thank you! We’ll see you next time we’re in Paphos for sure 😁
