Lokál U Caipla — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

Our server was so bad at Lokal U Caipla that at some point I felt like I was getting punked or was on Candid Camera, and someone with a camera would come out and congratulate us on surviving this torturous experience and tell us we would be on TV. Asking her questions or for anything felt like we were asking her for a huge favor, like for a kidney or her first-born child. And that was just the start. I ordered a kofola soft drink, it never came. We ordered bread, it came, and before we finished eating it, the waitress came and took it away, with half of it left. Even before we had our main course. My husband's meal came out first, no problem, but then he ate it and we waited 25 minutes for the rest of our food. At that point, I asked another waitress, as ours had disappeared for 20 minutes. She went and checked and then came back to apologize for the mistake. At that point and after the soda and bread and disgruntled attitude, I asked to speak to a manager -- who came over, our favorite happy waitress! She barely said sorry and didn't offer us anything to make up for it. We have a two year old child, so to wait 30 minutes after my husband ate for our meal, is torture. Not to mention all the other service issues. When our meals finally came, the chicken was totally fine, but my mother in law's pork could barely be cut and we didn't have a proper knife for her to cut it (and at that point we never saw our waitress again). I hope this is an anomaly, but it's really not worth taking the chance. Lokal U Caipla should have paid us for this experience -- truly the worst service I have ever experienced in any...

This place won't be for me. I know that everyone praises it for it's beer and everything, but the place is just too noisy for me and I don't enjoy shouting at people around me when I want to talk to them. Similarly to my previous experiences, service was bad. Also similarly to my previous experiences, food is great. I can't complain a bit about its quality and taste. But I ordered beef broth and that broth was getting to me for quite some time. I think that staff just forgot about me. I asked a waiter about it, he said "I'm not taking care of meals, just drinks" and he left. So I was left there without any update about my order and no willingness of staff to even hear me out. I needed to wait for another waiter that had something to do with the meals at the place to ask him about my order. My broth arrived 1 hour after ordering. The staff apologized, but I don't get this approach. I like the system for marking ordered beers. It's a piece of paper with beers to scratch out. Staff does the job every time you...

I must congratulate the management of this branch of Lokál on providing possibly the worst service I've ever received on the entire planet. I consider myself well travelled so this is high praise indeed.

When the night starts with your friend telling you that the last time she visited, she swore never to come back ever again, you know that you're in for a wild ride. From slamming plates with our food on the table, to accusing me of not wanting to pay despite the fact that my friend was behind me ready to pay for his share, it was clear that the waitress was actively trying to make our time in the restaurant miserable from start to finish.

I didn't think that there would be anything that could make my opinion of service in Czech restaurants any worse but Lokál somehow managed to do it.

My advice for anyone who isn't Czech would be to take your money to U Dřeveného Vlka or U Dřeveného Orla where the waiters at least know how to treat their customers like human beings.
