A real gem in Karlovy Vary! Came because of a recommendation and we were really happy we did, it's a small and cosy restaurant that's hidden away in a calmer part of town where you don't find as many tourists, which is fantastic. We were greeted very politely by the waiter and despite the fact that it was easter weekend there were many spots available. We were even allowed to come with our dog, so it's definitely dog friendly!!! Menu is pretty varied, offering a lot of different pizzas that are pretty much constant and some daily specialities that aren't pizza. We all got the tomato soup that was on the daily menu. It was served very beautifully, but the taste wasn't 100% to my preference. I prefer sweeter tomato soup and this one was a bit too acidic for me. However if you like that then you will have no problem with it. I would also appreciate a tiny bit more salt to make it more balanced. So personally I wouldn't order the soup again. However, the pizza is a whole different story. We all got a different pizza. I got the one with smoked mozzarella and black pepper. First time ordering this flavor and now I'm addicted! It's super simple, smoky, stretchy mozzarella and big pieces of freshly cracked black pepper. The richness of the mozzarella was beautifully balanced with the almost floral notes of the pepper and it's spicy notes that came at the end. You would think that biting into big chunks of peppercorns would be unpleasant but no, on the contrary it gave it beautiful crunch and a slightly numbing feeling on the tongue. I can highly recommend! The dough was incredible as well, fluffy on the edges and thin in the middle. But not super thin, there was still some dough to go with the filling which I appreciate very much. It also wasn't burnt which I encountered in some Neapolitan Pizzerias.
Overall highly recommend and I would come back to Vary only to go and get this pizza, because it is truly an experience not...
Read moreThe place was clean and comfortable, server was attentive and friendly, open kitchen also looked clean with fancy pizza oven. However boths of our pizzas were bad, each in different way. I ordered calzone, pleasantly surprised that they have it on the menu as it is not so common. First of all, they bake it with tomatoes and mozzarella on top of the calzone. I do not mind that it is not traditional however I expect calzone to be puffed up with crispy dough on top. This way it is flat and soggy. Second, the combination of ingredients inside was also not particulary clever. Ricotta, ham and salami blended into a mush that reminded me of La vache qui rit sandwich from my elementary school. The other pizza we had was simple margherita. The problem with it was that it tasted like ashes and smoke. It was a bit charred, which is good but that could not have been the cause. Almost as if the furnace was leaking smoke on the pizza or maybe some ashes left in it. It is a shame, this place shows overall a great potential, it is well kept, seems they use quality ingredients, but I idefinitely will...
Read moreGood pizza place in New Town. Being in New Town you do not suffer from the "tourist tax." Menu is only in Czech but this is easily overcome by either using Google Translate or with the help.of the staff. When the waitress delivered the menu she immediately offered her help with the language or explaining anything. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
I went with their 480 Pizza and the lemonade. They were great choices.
They did not skimp on the toppings on the pizza. Something I am unable to say about a number of other places.
There is limited outdoor seating. If memory serves 1 table for 2 and 2 tables for 4. I can't comment on indoor seating.
If you are craving a pizza. This is the...
