Restaurace Sklípek — Restaurant in okres Karlovy Vary

I came to this restaurant hoping to have a nice meal, but it turned into a complete nightmare. I ordered baked duck with salad, but from the very first bite, I noticed that the meat was not fresh and had a bad smell.

I called a waitress, but after five minutes, another one came instead. Instead of listening to me, she accused me of making things up and insisted that everything was fine. Shocked by such disrespect, I decided to take the plate to the kitchen myself to talk directly to the staff.

There, I was met by a woman with an arrogant and dismissive attitude, who seemed to be the manager. I calmly explained that the dish was clearly spoiled and that my companions also noticed it. But instead of handling the situation professionally, she rudely told me, “Get out of here”, with no respect whatsoever.

In the end, I left hungry, paid for an inedible dish that went straight to the trash, and received terrible treatment on top of it.

I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant! The customer service is disgraceful, and the professionalism is nonexistent. I hope they feel at least some remorse for treating customers this way.

It’s incredible to read such a false and defamatory response. I’m surprised that instead of acknowledging your poor service, you resort to making up absurd stories. My complaint was legitimate from the very beginning: the meat had a bad smell and was spoiled. If something is spoiled, why would anyone eat it entirely, leaving only the bones? Your version makes no sense.

Moreover, if your restaurant treated customers well, I wouldn’t have had to go to the kitchen in the first place. But your staff was rude and refused to assist me properly.

Instead of accepting criticism and improving, your response perfectly illustrates the problem with this place: a lack of professionalism and respect for customers. In fact, the way you’ve responded to my review speaks volumes about you and how you run your business. Not only do you provide poor service, but you also attack customers who dare to tell the truth.

This was possibly the worst restaurant experience I ever had and also the first time in my entire life I send the food back.

Me and my partner came here for a dinner. He ordered beer and goulash and there was no problem. I ordered soup, the waitress said they have a potato soup available. I agreed. But only when they brought the soup, it was not only a potato soup, it also had mushrooms and sour eggs and it tasted absolutely terrible. The whole time the waitress did not come to our table once to ask whether everything is okay and whether I would like to order something else. At the end she argued that this is what I ordered, clearly her English language wasn't as good and apparently to her potato soup is the same as potato/mushroom/sour egg soup. If I would have an allergy that could be a huge problem. I didn't eat the soup and send it back and at the end they had the audacity to put it on our bill.

The other, older waitress who gave us the bill did not speak German or English and was clearly super offended when we did not pay for the soup and we couldn't even explain to her the issue because of the language barrier. She ended cursing us in probably every Czech slur word possible. We never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant. Never again.

I don't advise you to come here...

3 stars for: a great food, amazing beer, good price and beautiful restaurant. Truly a nice place for a traditional Czech food. They only accept cash, but you can pay in crowns and euros. However, I unfortunately have to criticize the service. Specifically, one lady who was in charge of us.

I was there with my foreign husband and it was quite noticeable how nice the lady treated me when I spoke Czech to her, and how different her attitude was when my husband spoke English to her. And I do not think there was a language barrier, the lady understood English well if needed.

And this happened not only to us. Next to the our table was another foreign couple, which was served by the same lady and with the same attitude.

I really hope that this was just a matter of chance, otherwise this is very rude, because the restaurant...
