Café Sladkovský — Restaurant in Prague

After having enjoyed Sladkovsky many times, tonight was very different. We were blatanly stolen from when asked to pay one by one at the bar at the end of the evening.

The waitress who was very rude the entire evening, wouldn’t clean glasses and plates off our table for most of the night (party of 12), practically started kicking us out before closing time, stole from each one of us when we went to pay. We figured out that the drinks and food count was completely off for each of us after we paid and went to confront her and ask to see individual bills. We then found out that what was on the slips was completely different than what she had told us and charged us all for. She didn’t even try to hide it then, but was trying to offer us free beers, which we did not want, so we wouldn’t get angry about it.

She claimed to have started working there 3 days ago, but it was pretty clear that this wasn’t a mistake on her part. In our eyes a total embarrasement on behalf of the place and a huge dissapointment all in all. You can’t employ people like this if you want anyone to ever come back again.

Best damn bar I visited in Prague. Cheap beer, friendly staff, great menu selection of varying styles of food, and free wifi! I came to this place every day while I was in Praha. Such a hidden gem because it's not in the touristy/middle of the city, so you would probably only visit it if you were staying in the area. This place is actually quite large for it's outside appearance, but even then, it gets packed at night. Around 7pm every night, there's this old guy that sits under his own picture on the wall (directly to the left when you first walk in, second table for two). Don't take his spot! He's a legend there, and he deserves his spot under his own picture. Talk to him if you get a chance :) He used to live in Canada for quite some time, but I won't take his story from him, you'll just...

I used to love it here. The food is very good, vegetarian options, burgers, and Mediterranean dishes. Their beer and cider is very nice. But lately I haven´t enjoyed our lunches/brunches or dinners there. Because for some reason they don´t offer a kids chair (which they used to have in past), neither the stuff is nice to parents with kids. I felt like they wanted us gone as soon as possible, even though there was no one for lunch in the entire place,...
