Café V lese — Restaurant in Prague

I’ve been living in Vršovice for a long time now, and Café V lese has always been a go-to spot—just like the other bars on Krymská. But last night’s visit left us truly disappointed. The atmosphere has completely changed.

Instead of being a place where patrons can unwind and enjoy a good drink, the two twenty-something bartenders started blasting Justin Bieber (along with other music no respectable bar on Krymská would ever play) and singing like it was karaoke night in the city center.

Is this supposed to be your new “vibe”?

We’ll be skipping this place from now on and sticking to Bar, Skladovský, Pilotů, and others where the atmosphere remains laid-back...

Paid for two drinks in cash, but the transaction stayed on the terminal, probably because the bartender assumed I’d pay by card. When my friend ordered, he tapped his card and ended up paying for my order a second time. It was only 147 CZK, but I showed the bartender proof that my friend was charged. She checked the receipts and told me she had only received one payment in cash. In reality, my friend was charged, and I think the situation was handled poorly. At the very least, I should have been offered a couple of drinks to cover the mistake. I like this place, but this experience was disappointing and the bartender...

I really don't want to give this place a bad review. I used to have so much fun in there 2 yrs ago; nights fueled by mescal. These days I'm rarely in Prague, so I went there only twice in 2018. On both occasions, the service was dreadful, the waitresses treated me like a pile of manure. Maybe I just caught the wrong people at the wrong time and you'll have better time.
