I love trying out new cafés in Prague and this one is definitely going on my list of favourites.

Atmosphere/Design: We went to FLAT café to have breakfast with a group of 6. The café is definitely suitable for larger groups compared to smaller cafés in Prague. Once you enter you can see the detailed, vintage sort of of interior with cozy niches for sitting and chatting with friends but also tables that invite to grab a quick coffee or work while enjoying a nice café atmosphere. The highlight is definitely the restroom, which is hidden and gives me a lot of Narnia vibes - but check it out for yourself.

Food/Drinks The food was great. Especially the omelette just melts in your mouth. We were a bigger group and ordered different items, including special requests because of some people's allergy, etc. Our needs were perfectly catered to, no mix ups and the allergy friendly options were just as delicious as the normal dish. For drinks there is a huge variety to chose from. Again very customizable and adjustable towards allergies and there are plant-based option if you prefer drinks without milk. I had the rosebud tea, which not only looks lovely but also had a nice scent and taste. Next time I would love to try the matcha latté though since it seems to had a lot of fans among our group.

Service/Overall summary: They service was great. As said before we had a lot of special requests, which were all meet. The owners are also super nice and like to chat for a bit, tell about the café and give their personal recommendations. For payment you could pay cash or with card, which is very useful nowadays and if you are traveling and don't have any Czech crowns with you. Overall I like the whole homey, vintage, living room atmosphere, nice smell of food, cake and coffee, subtle music and tasty food. I definitely look forward to come again and bring more friends to...

I’m currently writing my dissertation and I came to Prague for a change of pace and found this café accidentally just by looking out of a tram window. 1st of all, many tram lines stop at Ruská stop so it’s really easy to get there. 2nd of all, I was surprised by the staff’s ability to speak fluent english, all of them, AND they were also super nice and pleasant. 3rd of all, It’s a working/brunch place so they have a computer and non-computer section - detail that scratches my brain in the right place. And lastly, I’m a coffee lover but for the food to tramp coffee, that doesn’t happen often. They are literally food masterpieces on a plate that satisfy all of your taste buds in one meal. I didn’t want to leave and so I came back right the next day. Overall, I had the pancakes and eggs benedict, both delicious and presented perfectly, they had a great blend for batch, and they also have homemade lemonades which is my personal must-have at awesome cafés. The added homey-ness of the café was a huge bonus for me, as I require a good athmosphere for working. There is a conversational area with couches that is straight from the Friends TV show but made in British manner! And the bathroom is hidden in the closet in case you, you know, wish to experience a Narnia style bathroom break. They literally have it all so go visit now if you just need the most comfortable...

UPDATED REVIEW:

I went a third time to Flat cafe a couple weeks ago and was very disappointed compared to my first 2 visits.

I met a friend and we each had a hot drink and she had some food as well and tea.

I got the matcha latte and unfortunately it was one of the worst ones I’ve had.

While we were talking the servers kept coming up asking if we would like anything else, know i know that is expected in a cafe but it was far to often and felt extremely urgent, we could tell they were just trying to get us out so they could seat more people, even though we were still drinking and not there that long yet.

Overall the service was very brisk and not friendly at all, totally the opposite of my other couple of experience but enough to make me not want to come again and risk it.

. . .

A really nice cafe. The staff were kind and spoke English. The drinks were good, of course a little pricier but very nice. The vibe was cool, with a lot of mismatched table and glasses and stuff. The dark green walls are relaxing for me and I love all the little details. I would like to go back and try thier menu, since it looked nice. We got the mango matcha latte and the chai latte with...
