Cafe Sofa — Restaurant in Prague

I was really looking forward to visiting this place as I’m a huge green tea and Japanese food lower! The interior is beautiful and the drinks and food offer looks great. However I was really disappointed once I actually came. I visited the cafe twice in one day. In the morning I came to have take away Sencha. 105 Kc for a take away drink is really expensive, I was sure I’m paying for an amazing quality but it was not the case. It was probably an alright quality loose leave tea but the preparation was not good. The taste was very weak, like drinking watered down medium quality sencha. I was hoping this was just a one off unfortunate mistake so I came again in the afternoon to sit down for some food. I was waiting by the table but for several minutes no one brought me the menu so I went to ask the waitress whether I should go order to the bar or they are coming to make orders to the tables. She said they are coming to the tables but still didn’t bother to bring me a menu. Mind you the place was NOT busy! I came today to have a visit to Café Sofa. The place was nice, it’s clean and cozy. The food was great too.

But, Unfortunately I’m a bit pissed off with the service. I came with t-shirt and short. The skinny lady waitress didn’t greet me. She passed me the menu without even saying hi to me or make face to face contact. She just left the menu on the table and went away. And then came another men, well dressed. she came along with the men, greeted them, gave the menu and nicely talk to them. I came first to this place than these men but she took their orders first, not me. I was just dumped by her like I wasn’t there. And then came another waiter, he was very nice to me and he took my orders.

When I wanted to pay, again the skiny lady waitress handed me over to her colleague to do the payment while she didn’t do anything and she was standing at the cashier. I am sorry but I am very offended by your waitress attitude. She treated the customers differently according to how decent you dressed today.

Very disappointing. I was very excited by the design of this caffe', by the originality of their offer, you can have dessert and caffe' based on Japanese culture, but I was so disappointing. I went twice. The first time we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday there with a group of friends. The food was OK, but the service was not good, and the waitress was not nice and flexible at all. The second time we went there we did not have reservation, there was no label on the tables (so tables were apparently free) but the waitress told everything was reserved. I asked them if we could just order some food take away (they were doing some Japanese sandwiches) and they refused. It is a small cafe and just taking a couple of sandwiches would have made us happy. I am so disappointed and I will not go again. For such high price you expect better service and kindness.
