We were three adults traveling with a group of teenagers aged 14–15. During our stay, a lamp fell from the ceiling in the adults’ room due to a draft – it seemed to have been previously damaged, as it came down very easily. Since it happened in our room, we know exactly what took place, and there was absolutely no party or irresponsible behavior involved.||Instead of investigating the incident properly, the receptionist accused us of being drunk and having thrown a party, claiming that must be the reason the lamp fell. This was completely untrue and a baseless accusation. We do not drink when we are responsible for children, and it was clear from the context that we were a group of responsible adults supervising teenagers. He also told us there had been “multiple complaints.”||However, we had observed loud music and partying on several nights from the floor below, which the reception made no effort to stop – it is likely the complaints were actually about those guests. Still, the staff insisted we were responsible.||We were told to clean up the broken glass ourselves and received no help with mopping the floor or changing the bed linens. On top of that, we were fined 1500 CZK for a new lamp that clearly cost much less. We were told we couldn’t check out unless we paid the amount.||The situation ended with the receptionist behaving in an extremely unprofessional and hostile manner. He swore at us, said we were no longer welcome, and refused to check us out unless we paid the fine.||Overall, a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. I cannot recommend...
Read moreI booked a room with a double bed. Instead, I got 2 single beds pushed together. I couldn't sleep with my partner because of a 10 cm gap caused by two bed frames pushed together. I informed the receptionist that the heat in my room wasn't working. I was assured it would be turned on and offered an extra blanket for which I had to pay a 10 euro deposit. The heat never came on and the room was so cold that in addition to 2 blankets- I slept in my coat. The room has a sink, which is great but the water has only one temperature - ice cold. Yesterday was 13 degrees, today it is 1 degree. I can't imagine how cold this room will be tonight. I never slept in the arctic tundra, I guess this is as close as I will get to that experience. Prague is beautiful, but staying here makes me feel like I can't wait to get home. The hostel has cute old decorations from the time of communism. Unfortunately the condtions offered by this hostel also feels like I am staying in Prague in the time of communism. If the weather is nice, I guess this would be an OK place to stay. But please if you value your comfort don't consider staying here outside of...
Read moreNice people at the reception. Management does not care about mistakes being made - I paid 12 Euros to have my laundry done, but the personel just stuck my stuff in the dryer with some perfumed towel in the hope I would not recognize. The receptionist told me that the laundry lady wasn't happy with the amount of hostel laundry (bed and linen) that they had to do and then plus having to do the guests laundry. If you feel overwhelmed with laundry, then don't offer to do the guests laundry. It is as simple as that. Management did not care or offer to actually have it washed. I paid 12 euros for nothing. Walkes across town with my dirty laundry until I found a place to REALLY have my clothes washes. It cost me even more. I stayed a day longer in the hostel in order to get some work done , but instead I was busy fixing my dirty laundry. 60 euros stay, 12 euros laundry, anothrt 15 euros for the REAL laundry. 72 euros down the drain, which is a lot of money for me. I am extremely disappointed in the hostels management. I can not recommend this place. Also it lacks...
