I stumbled upon this Indian bistro by accident a year ago and have been looking forward to returning ever since. Today was a special day, so we decided to visit. We started with two mango lassis, which were absolutely refreshing, and ordered pani puri, something I’ve missed since my time in Kolkata where I first tried it on the street. We also had dosa, a pancake-like dish filled with a savory potato and vegetable mix, as well as paratha – perfectly fluffy bread with a delicious filling.
Every bite was a nostalgic trip back to India, which I’ve been missing a lot. For those not accustomed to the spices, I’d recommend asking the server for advice, but everything tasted fantastic to me. Their mango lassi and chai latte are both incredible, served just like in India.
The menu here is quite different from other Indian restaurants – don’t expect to find chicken tikka masala. This is a vegetarian place, and that makes it even more special. It feels less like a modern European take on Indian cuisine and more like a cozy, authentic bistro somewhere in Mumbai. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true...
Read moreActually took a little time to put a review because i went to other dosa place to compare if i was only feeling bad or your dosa was really that poor. When you opened the restaurant it had fantastic taste for which i wrote a 5 star review but today i edited to 1. Few weeks ago we went to you and you gave us chutney and sambar where we could see yeast bubbling and you said its normal- but its completely not. Also again we went for second time assuming you have made it better and one time it was bad so did not make an issue. But again, it was actually even worse with weird smell that seemed that it was already three four days old. I am indian and i know what and how much tangy it should taste from the yeast itself. After tasting a much much better dosa at DOSA BISTRO i really dont recommend your place to anyone anymore. If anyone reads this they can compare by trying both or maybe you can go to try there and really see what you serve.
And before you write a long reply of how good you are please taste your own food and be honest atleast.
Also i see the same reviews like mine in the lowest section- its clearly many...
Read moreI typed vada pav in google search and came across this place which is not located in the city centre. But after reading amazing reviews and trusting the owner, we decided to visit this small cafe for indian street food items.
A small cozy cafe with funky food quotes on the wall. We were bit unlucky as all the food items which has pav in it was not available (due to easter holidays). But we still stayed and ordered other dishes - Pav bhaji with bread, bombay sandwhich, sev puri and masala chai.
Bhaji was good in taste. Sev puri was a complete NO as it lacked taste, proper ingredients and chatpata in it. Also the bombay sandwhich lacked taste even though it has all ingredients in it. But glad we stayed as they could still serve us one vada pav. And the vada pav was amazing in taste - similar to pune style vada and home made large pav. Loved the taste.
Another highlight is their masala chai- too good that we ordered it twice.
I hope they survive the competition and improve other dishes for overall great food.
Vada pav and masala chai is highly...
