I ordered pho bo and got a rice noodle soup, made from chicken bouillon cubes (not even from pho concentrate). Outrageous? In Prague maybe not really.. With stiff competition for customers, Prague's vietnamese outfits should be making more effort than they were used. Pho soups seem to be a standard fare in many places nowadays. But with the cost of over 100 czk, pho needs to prove that it's not just some other 'noodle' soup. The key is the broth; if it's not made by boiling bones and meat for 6-8 hours, with the right spices, it's NOT pho. Not everyone can tell the difference though, so some cooks take advantage of this and cheat. Given that you have to order and pay up front (no service here), this is all the more awkward, as you can't simply walk away. I had to remind the man behind the counter that I was expecting a meal, too. Read moreThis is the worst Vietnamese food I have ever had. Our supposedly fresh spring rolls were dry as if they've been sitting in a fridge all day. I had vermicelli noodles with chicken. It was extremely bland and half was lettuce. My wife had stir fried noodles but they were very salty, with little chicken. I can see why they make you pay for your meal when you order it. You don't feel like paying for this bad food later....
