Stepping into Malý Buddha is like crossing a threshold into another realm—a sacred space where food, art, and spirituality create a divine experience. For over 22 years, this restaurant has been a haven for my soul, offering not just nourishment for the body but for the spirit as well. The owner, a master chef and a gifted painter, pours his heart into every aspect of the restaurant. Each dish is crafted with love and care, using fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced daily from local farmers. The essence of Tibetan buddhist Asian cuisine comes alive here, a true gift for anyone seeking authenticity. You don’t need to travel to Tibet—Tibet comes to you with every bite, every aroma, and every sip of their exquisite teas. My personal favorites, the Yogi Spicy Tea and Aged Rice Tea, are meditative experiences in themselves.
The moment you enter, the energy shifts. The soft glow of lighting, the tranquil music, and the sacred Buddhist temple at the back envelop you in peace. time slows down, inviting you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the present moment. The walls adorned with the owner’s unique paintings add another layer of depth, offering a glimpse into a world of higher consciousness. I was reading a late review from guests that they have voiced concerns over small details, like the 10 Kč charge for water or the cash-only policy. Yet, these elements feel minor in the grand scheme of what Malý Buddha represents. The menu is transparent, I whole heartedly recommend this magical place to anyone ready to experience something profound. Here, food is art, and the ambiance...
Read moreIt's an odd spot this. They try to put on both a fancy and an authentic show at the same time and fail at both. The food has very little taste aside the soups and cold teas which were nice. It's far too dark inside and while I liked the music it didn't fit the atmosphere at all. Service was reliable but not pleasant. The really annoying thing to me personally is being charged for water without being foretold about it. It may be a regular thing in Prague but they weren't surprised at all at my shock seeing this on the bill. In fact they told me at the cashier I had water too when asked what part of the bill was mine. I'd be happy to order it for a cost knowingly but surprising me with a surcharge at the cashier?...
Read moreOut of all the Asian/Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been to, this place has been the worst. Please don't mistaken as the staff were very VERY friendly and helpful (and that deserves a star) but food could not be over looked by the kind staff. Food wad either blend or extremely salty or just strange and could not be excused by deep frying. But this probably should have been expected since this restaurant offers 3 different Asian cuisine at once. Atmosphere was dark and "exotic" - the type typical non-Asians might find "exotic" (buddah statues, asian instrumental music, chinese lamps, dark...
