We recently stayed at the hotel for a family birthday trip, and booked Golden Star on the strength of the other Tripadvisor reviews. It did not disappoint! Friendly & efficient front of house staff & at reception, the hotel is very clean and in a wonderful location. We really appreciated the peace and quiet of the area in the evening after long days walking around the magnificent city of Prague. We had 2 rooms and both were very nice, peaceful and quiet with a full range of in room services - air conditioning, safe, bathroom toiletries, robes, nespresso coffee machine & minibar. Comfortable beds & good powerful hot shower system. Great varied buffet breakfast which we enjoyed & plenty of seating, loved the Helix sculpture in the lift area of the hotel! Close to some good bars & restaurants which we went to in the local area. Hotel is up a hill on the road up to Prague Castle which we didn’t mind personally as the view from the hotel of Prague was a bonus here and to get good views you need to go up! We would stay her again...
Read moreWe spent 3 nights at the hotel which we booked via Trivago. Initially we had a room at 1st floor, but we were allowed to move to another room at 4th floor the next day. There we have experienced a wonderful cozy room with an unbelieveable view of Prague Old Town through the window. The area couldn´t be better - the hotel is located in the Mala Strana district, near many attractions, pubs, restaurants and directly at the castle (2 min. walk). Several tourists took pictures of the hotel due to its attractive antique look.
Breakfast was included in the price and absolutely OK and sufficient. The hotel unfortunately does not have a parking, but parking is located in the immediate vicinity (cost 15 euro / night).
It is unbelieveable to get such a standard in such an area at such a low price. In other European cities one would pay min. 4x for a comparable standard. Absolutely highly recommended to everyone! When we come back one day to Prague we will definitely book...
Read moreIf you don't have a car, you'd better take Uber to the hotel. It's going to be hard for you to come to the hotel with your luggage. If you have a car, there is no place to park in the hotel. You have to park on the street, but you have to pay 18 euros to the hotel. When I checked in, the hotel staff told me the city hall site and said I could pay for the parking, but I could only pay for it by max 1 hour. I didn't know that 1hod was an hour, but I only lost 80czk. When I told this to the hotel staff, only then did she say that there was one seat where I could register for parking by 12 a.m. the next day. And I got 18 euros. It's a good location to visit Prague Castle and the monastery. The hotel is old, but it is clean whether the interior has been remodeled. We also have soap, shampoo, body wash, and body lotion. There is a refrigerator, air conditioner, and breakfast is okay. There was nothing uncomfortable except parking because the staff was on standby 24...
