Restaurace U Topolů — Restaurant in Prague

My stomach is currently full of Lamb Ragu from U Topolu. It was a shockingly good lunch. This place has risen to the top of the list for lunches in the Dejvice/Bubenec neighborhood. They also pour Kozel from a Tank, so there is really no excuse to miss this place! Enjoy!

Update: They never have the Lamb Ragu anymore. As I understand it, that was 50 czk too much for anyone to order at lunch. Very sad. Also, maybe we're getting spoiled, or tired of hospoda food every day for lunch, but we never come here anymore - pork and dumplings every day just is not a good thing. This restaurant was our favourite one for a lunch. However it's quality really degraded last few weeks and today it was the last time for me.

Service was not just really really slow but also quite unfriendly. The quality of food was simply below average and when I asked the service to fix it somehow, the reply was "it's ok the way it is, we're not gonna do anything about it".

The final strike came again from the service. I tried to tell someone else I wasn't satisfied. The person I was speaking to replied with something like "Not funny, just pay the bill and off with you."

We visited this restaurant two times while in Prague. I’m not sure why the previous reviewer would leave one star in part because the waitresses don’t speak English; if you go to a country with a native language other than English you should be prepared to learn enough of their language to get by or find other ways to communicate. Both waitresses we had spoke English and were very polite. The food was well priced and lovely. It was way better than what we got in the city Center. I highly recommend...
