My review is nothing to do with the quality of the coffee, as I didn't actually have any. This review is entirely based on the experience I had during my short time inside April.
We arrived to the cafe which was empty at the time. While the design of the cafe is nice, it feels like it exists only to perpetuate the pretentiousness April wishes to push forward in this establishment. Cold and uninviting, feeling more like a showroom than anything else.
Adding to this, there is no menu available, which generally wouldn't be too much of an issue, however I'll speak more on that later.
The barista, while seeming quite knowledgeable about the coffee, lacked any charisma whatsoever. It felt more like an awkward presentation than a convincing sell of their product. When I ordered two hand brews, he proceeded to very uncomfortably announce that since April provides "high quality fine coffee" the price for each cup is 150kr (€20/$21).
I understand from reading other reviews that people have felt scammed by the baristas not telling them the price prior to drinking the coffee, so I feel quite lucky to not be one of those unfortunate few.
While I understand and am entirely happy to pay a higher price for a great product, nothing about my short visit to April made me feel comfortable, never mind even wanted in their shop. The way the barista announced the price at the end felt more like a chump check, profiling us to not be "cool" enough to pay such an outrageously high price for a coffee.
Copenhagen has some incredible third wave cafes - so if you find yourself going to April, being shellshocked by the pretentiousness and snobbery, just know that they are an outlier in a city that has more than enough great places for a cup of "high quality fine coffee" - The Artisan is just down the road, Darcy's Kaffee, Cub Coffee and Coffee Collective to just name a few are all excellent and welcoming experiences (and a handbrew costs about 100kr...

I had the unlucky experience of getting tricked into paying 150kr for a decent, but rather casual coffee. The prices are not openly listed, and that coffee (being the only one for such an absurd amount) was inconspicuously presented as the most interesting one by the barista when I asked about their beans. There was no indication of any oddity in price. Furthermore, when I wanted to pay immediately, the barista suggested that I pay after I am done. This way I saw the price when it was too late. Looks like an effective, cunning technique.
I know that it's my obligation to learn the price before making a transaction, therefore I paid. However, this practice makes me simply not trust them anymore. This is something I never encountered in Coffee Collective or Prolog for example, where prices are always exposed and most often I am additionally warned by the barista that some coffee costs more thab usual. Also, in such cases the coffee is usually special in some sense; here it was definitely not the case.
Regarding the place itself, it's quite unwelcoming. There are very few seats with loads of empty, unused space. The ambiance is very pretentious, looks like it was someone's ambition to design a piece of art, not necessarily a coffee place. This makes, at least to me, an unwelcoming sterile feeling that I should better not touch anything and ideally not be there. And amidst that, there is a big threshold in the very center over which it is super easy to trip. I don't...

The coffee is first class. They usually have different beans to choose from but regardless of what you my choose you can rest assured that the coffee is top notch. They serve pour over and every cup is brewed individually by the barista. They also serve espresso and espresso based drinks. The coffee they serve is light roasted which means that the inherent flavors and quality of the beans are highlighted and not burnt away to hide the flaws like many big commercial coffee roasters do.
Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable about coffee.
