Charlie's Bar — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

If you had asked me yesterday i would have given this place a 5/5, i have been here countless of times in the past 3 years, and enjoyed all of them. But today when i went out with my friend to enjoy a beer, we had a accedent were my friend hit my hand, and my glass flew 1 meter away behind me and sharded. Then came the owner and riddciuled me infront of the other customers, accused me of throwing a class after another customer ( which is a criminal offense, both to do and to incorrectly accuse off) and threw us out.

What a disgracefull and unmoral way to treat another person over a accedent, even when i admited to the accedent and apologiced, i was still accused of throwing a glass after another gentleman! Insane owner?!

I won't be coming back and neither will any of my friends. Shame on your wrongful sense of...

If you give this place less than 5* then you don't deserve good places like this. An incredible bar that will make you rethink the role of the 'theme pub' in city centres. Normally the prospect of a British pub abroad would be a signal to steer clear, or at least leave the locals to try and enjoy such a tacky old thing.

Charlie's rips up that corporate template, offering both high quality independent brewed beer - including several cask lines which are immaculate - with an intimate, social, pubby and lived-in environment that comfortably clears the low bar set by the average theme pub, while setting the marker very high in general. In all of Copenhagen there are very few bars that can compete either with its drinks offerings, or the venue as a whole.

I broke my rule of not drinking in "British Style" pubs when I go abroad- I mean you fly hundreds of miles just to go drink in some Theme pub from your home land..I mean come on! So ok I broke my rule. I was in Copenhagen and was in a bit of need of a change from drinking Carlsberg type lagers. Charlies Bar has great selection real ales. Bar staff are knowledgeable. The bar is really small and fills up quickly. When I was there was good mix of locals and ex-pats. Got chatting to a couple of ex-pats in there are they offred up some interesting observations of the Danes and the City of Copenhagen. So if you fancy a nice IPA toddle to Charlies Bar and sip away...
