Coffee Collective Bernikow — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Visited Coffee Collective Bernikow on May 2, 2023. We had two Long Black Coffee/Americano. Coffee quality is excellent, reasons for not assigning the place five (5) stars are two 1) The size of the Americano/Long Black Coffee, was 1/3 or 1/2 of the size what is usually served when ordering a double shot black coffee. Thus, too small servings, less than regular sizes in other cafes; 2) No information on the origins of the coffee beans, whether it was a single estate bean or not. That information should preferably have been made available for coffee aficionados. This considering the name of the place “Coffee Collective Bernikow”. Coffee collective sets a high standard for quality of coffee and roasting throughout Europe. Their shops are kept to similarly high standard - even at the busiest of times, everything was "up to spec". Simply put, I've never had a bad cup or a bag there. Their hot chocolate and milky drinks are equally impressive.

The 4 stars go simply for not having a decaf option. As leaders in sourcing and roasting, I was surprised to learn they had none. With so many roasters dipping into a magnificent world of decaf, if they do not want to develop their own, they could import it from another roaster as a guest (Square Mile, Cogito,...

I had high hopes for this place, but was disappointed. The coffee is a bit better than average I give you that, but I found the experience to be unpleasant. Some very rude lady told me to close the door before I had even gone in. Which is just rude and stressful. You also pay quite a bit of money for a basic black cup of coffee. Which I don’t mind too much if it’s really good coffee but ontop of paying too much you get a tiny cup that they only fill about half or 2/3rds of the way. It’s like all of Copenhagen is allergic to filling a cup of coffee the top. I mean if I pay 35 kroner I expect a little more than two...
