Location is excellent. Very close to Nyhavn. It’s like a 4-minute walk. I went there for a morning stroll and it was wonderful.
Staff are friendly and amazing. I appreciated the early check in and that our room was readily available in the morning. After an exhausting red-eye flight, we needed a good rest and this hotel made it possible for us. We are so grateful for the early check in. One of their staff, Jasper, (I’m sure I spelled this wrong - apologies as my Danish spelling isn’t the best) was very helpful. He gave recommendations as to what tourist spots and attractions to check out. He even suggested a good route when we visited Malmö, Sweden. All of these are really great.
Breakfast is good. Varied selections and many items to choose from. Healthy options were there too and they serve amazing coffee.
Rooms are extremely tight. There isn’t enough space to move within especially for two persons. Their beds are almost a size of a coffin. In addition to this, they don’t have a fridge where we can put our own medicine or leftover food. Instead, they have a mini hanging fridge which is full of their own overpriced merchandise. I think this was unnecessary. They should aim for what they can offer their guests in terms of convenience. Would’ve been nice to have a mini fridge where we can store our food or our own drinks. It was deliberately done this way wherein no fridge was provided so we won’t be able to store our own items.
UPDATE: The hotel responded to this review and mentioned that hotel guests can leave their medicines in the fridge at their reception and have access to it at anytime. Now this isn’t convenience at all. First of all, I’m not comfortable leaving my medicine at their reception where their reception staff or any other person can see what kind of medicine I have and know my medical condition. It’s also inconvenient to get my medicine, lets say when I need it on the middle of the night. That means from 5th floor, I have to go down at their reception just to get my medicine? Would it be more convenient if I have a mini fridge in my hotel suite to keep my meds instead of going down? This is unnecessary or un-thoughtful advice.
They cleaned our room however, they were lacking attention to details. While cleaning our room, would’ve been better if they also checked our inventory such as toilet paper, tissue, shampoo and conditioner which are all out. We have to ask them; nevertheless, they delivered so efficiently and got our items refilled in no time.
I believe the hotel is charging more because of their location. While this is understandable, it is also critical to consider guests’ comfort and convenience. Beds, mini-fridge, room space are all essential to provide a pleasant accommodation experience.
Overall, a nice experience. I’m not sure if I highly rate the hotel, but I would say it’s a good stay especially if they look...
Read moreA very good stay. My single room had all the facilities I'd expect - TV, safe, tea & coffee making facilities, although limited storage space for clothes. I didn't use the mini-bar but there was one. While there was no air-con, I wouldn't expect it in Denmark, and my corner room had 2 windows which opened.||I like the way a building which looks very traditional on the outside, has been made to feel modern inside e.g. the bare brick in the lower ground floor reception/lounge area.||I was able to park my bicycle securely behind locked gates, off the street.||Excellent location right on the waterfront, and only a few minutes round the corner from Nyhavn, Ofelia Plas (for boat trips), or across the bridge to Broens street food market.||Best breakfast I had in Denmark - they clearly pride themselves on offering organic and sustainable options e.g. using up rye bread to make a crunchy granola style topping for yoghurt. Lots of tasty treats on offer - I couldn't resist a sliver of the Danish pastry, as well as the healthy fruit/yoghurt/rye bread options. Italians, or those who like Italian style breakfast, would be pleased to know there was even cake. This was the first time I've ever seen a hotel bean to cup coffee machine offering a choice of oat and...
Read moreWe stayed at the Copenhagen Strand and had a wonderful experience. The location couldn't be better - around the corner from Nyhavn, one of Copenhagen's most picturesque streets, and a 5-10 minute walk to the Metro (Kongens Nytorv). The location on the canal is quiet, and we had no issues with noise like other travelers we met who were staying near the train station and Tivoli. Plenty of bike rentals nearby, and the hotel has bikes to rent as well. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - such a huge selection! We looked forward to it every morning.
Our room was small but seemed to have been recently renovated. Our room had a mini bar and teapot. There did not seem to be A/C but a fan was provided in our room (we stayed there in August.) The bathroom had a heated floor, but the tub was high off the ground and could be difficult to get in and out of. The shower also leaked water onto the floor. Unfortunately the wifi in the hotel was a bit spotty and the printer in the lobby didn't work when we needed it - we were glad to have unlimited data on our phones because we could not rely on the hotel internet. Other than those small details, we had a nice stay and would definitely recommend the Strand to anyone staying...
