Edit: I wish I could get the same honesty as I provided from the owner about the words that were exchanged. No mention of the comment this is a mexican place, you should've told us etc. Also, I never talked down on anyone especially the serving crew but asked the owner that we can leave if he's hating his life since he kept sighing, rolling his eyes, and not trying to find a common ground except the time he told us that it'd take time which we said yes to but he kept his not so friendly attitude.
Such a sad and disappointing experience.
First had to wait for 15 extra minutes on top of our reservation time, out in the cold. The host was rude and definitely not friendly.
After we were taken to our table, didn't get any service for solid 5-10 mins. Then ordered drinks and the glass was chipped, and the drink was spilled but that's not where the unfortunate series of events start. The allergy section was unfortunately not clear in the booking section and I didn't specify my chili allergy since it was not clear from their menu either.
The chef/owner ame to our table with an attitude, told me that I should've informed them and I explained how it was not clear on the reservation and the menu. He followed by saying well it's a Mexican restaurant what did you expect. And I explained once again that it was not certain. Let's not forget the eye rolls and extensice hand gestures. He said everything will take longer which we said yes to. After a minute of back and forth I suggested we can leave if he's hating his life since his tone and facial expressions suggested so. Then he proceeded to tell us that the drinks are on the house and we should leave. Which we obviously did but never have I ever in my life faced such an attitude and inhospitality.
Such a let down, and best of luck with their journey. Hopefully the team will treat other guests way...
Read moreI was disappointed with my last visit.
First of all, I remembered the food as exceptional, but this time was just ok. Regarding the food, the worst thing was the waiting: We chose the tasting menu and there were around 25 minutes in between most of the dishes, so it took us 2 hours and a half to go through it (a big part of it, waiting). I can understand a gastronomic dinner of 2 hours with a lot of servings but this was not the case. I talked about this with the waiter and he told me that was the normal pace of the dinner. I go out for dinner a lot and I don't find normal that you should be 25 minutes in an empty table on a restaurant. The kitchen should adapt to the pace of the guest, not the other way around (and we are not fast eaters, it's 8 different plates mostly served in pairs, most of them small, so pretty fast to go through it).
In addition to that, small details didn't make sense. For example, we got our sharing plates changed for the main, but not the cutlery, that was transported (dirty) from one plate to another; dirty plates were left with us for a long time; nobody asked us if things were good...I understand this is not the most expensive restaurant of Copenhagen, but is not the cheapest either so I expected another kind of service (like the one received in other visit).
I am very sad that such a nice restaurant have changed so much....
Read moreAll in all the flavour profile is to one sided, the preparation a bit sloppy, and it just lacks that little something that makes you want to recommend the place to anyone, even though the price is attractive. My favourites on the menu were the bread with sesame yoghurt, chicken fat and pineapple-habanero sauce, the oysters with hibiscus and chili, and the broccolini with shellfish mayo. All nice and interesting. But the ceviche was way to sour, the pimientos de padron was undercooked and served with a bland pumpkin mash, the gambas were tough and almost impossible to eat, and the redfish was just boring and again only served with sour things on the side. We showed up early for pre-dinner drinks because the website says ‘eatery and bar’, but they all seemed a bit mystified by that. Cocktails were nice though :) Staff is friendly, but a bit loud, and with loud music as well and a somewhat bad acoustic in the room, it is not a place for a cozy dining experience. So if you are crazy about sour flavours, you should have a go at it, but otherwise I would wait until they have had the time to refine the concept, if that...
