Christianhavn boat rental and cafe opened in 1991. It is a curious name since they don’t rent out boats. They used to rent rowing boats but traffic increased on the narrow canals and there wasn’t room for the oars anymore and they lost their permit. It is a lovely cafe right on the water and there is an almost Venetian feel to the place due to the canal and marine ambience. Service comes with a generous smile but It’s a cafe and the culinary choices are limited. It’s mostly traditional danish classics with a twist. The deep fried fish filet is my favourite. prices are fair. Although you are in the middle of the city, only few minutes from the parliament, this cafe is a peaceful oasis away from bustling city stress and I highly recommend it. It has become an institution for locals over the years and is usually full. In the evening the place really comes alive and enjoying a drink while watching the light twinkle in the water is a perfect way to spend the evening.

Ordered strawberry trifle and a glass of coke, not so many menu you can order, and the menu book comes with only paper (dont know why some cafes in copenhagen are like this). The trifle tastes amazing i like it, and they put a piece of lemon in the coke making it so fresh. Ambience is good, price is more expensive because you need to pay for the view. Overall good experience trying this floating cafe.

Location, location, location. This is a bar with limited but well-prepared food fare. But hey, this is not a place you go to satisfy your epicurean fantasies. You go here to have a few pops and hang out over a Copenhagen canal and watch the world go buy. Mission accomplished. Order at the bar to expedite service. And yes,the chairs are bad.

ARGGH.....It might just have been one of those days where everything went wrong but I wasn't very impressed by the cafe today. The reserved table was not free, and we had to wait for another, not as good table. Due to good weather there was hardly any food left on the menu (18:30). Only one main course and two different starters. We actually ordered a other dishes but everytime they returned from the kitchen that they unfortunately did have any more of that. We waited 1h20min on the starters. Which they then didn't have anyways. We cancelled our starters ( which they didn't have anyways) and went directly tomain course. 5 Pigs Pot and 1 scallobs which was way burned. A compliment to the chef that he actually came and appogized and offered us dessert and a wine.It was clear that he wanted to serve us faster.

HOWEVER the reason why I am still pissed is that a big party of 10 people who came 35 min after us, still got their food before our party of 6. AND they got to order all the dishes they where "out " of earlier when we tried to order.

BECAUSE IT WAS THE OWNER AND HIS FRIENDS...

It super bad style to bump other paying customer, just so you can feel important infront of your friends.

The food was good ( besides from the scallobs), the staff tried their best, but the fact that the owner's friends food is more important than mine is not okay to...

This is a complain about service, and service only. Food and environment where nice. Seems there was a problem in the kitchen because food was taking very long. We asked bread (we were coming from a full day of kitesurf, starving) so we just asked for some bread. Once, twice, and the 3rd time I just stood up and went to get it. After which a strong episode of passive aggression took place with the waiter! She could have just taken the bread and cut it herself (we mentioned we don't need it cut! Just something to hold on to until food arrives). Later the drinks also got delayed (different bar, so... 🤷‍♂️). If you go, just get a drink in the bar yourself and then head to a table. Like...
