First, the food was actually quite delicious. The restaurant itself is rather dimly lit and the acoustics are not the best, but the atmosphere is nice and cozy.
However, there were also several points of the experience that was not quite satisfactory.
We had a voucher for their tasting menu that had to be used and I had warned them previously that I am allergic to bell peppers. The main dishes had some bell pepper in them. The waiter asked the kitchen but came back and said they could not remove it as it “ruins the flavor”. Despite my to fellow patrons insisting they were fine with it, apparently it was quite preposterous to ask. I then asked if I could get something else instead, even just bread, and was told I can order and pay for something from the menu. The waiter kept saying “I don’t make the rules” (fair), yet we could not get offered any alternatives or solutions from whoever does make the rules. In the end they agreed to leave out a smokey bell pepper oil from one dish, which we accepted. However when the dish came, there was still a reddish oil in there. I cannot be sure what it was as I assumed it was a different oil, yet for the rest of the night I had itchy lips and a stomach ache…
When the dishes came and the waiter presented them, we noticed the halloumi from one dish was not mentioned, which was something my fellow patrons were looking forward to. We inquired about it, to which the waiter said “yeah, we’re running out so…” While I get that there might not be much to do to get an ingredient that’s simply run out, I would expect to a least be informed upfront that my dish is not complete and not have to explicitly ask about it. I also think it would have been a nice gesture if they had offered an alternative ingredient or something.
Overall, I find it jarring that the restaurant is fine with taking out ingredients when it suits them, but will not be flexible regarding allergies.
So: Come here if you enjoy delicious vegetarian food (or vegan if you prefer). But do not expect them to be flexible regarding allergies or inform you about changes in the menu - and do expect to pay full...
Read moreIt was nice food and just for being vegan I feel I have to rate them highly but honestly they have a weird thing about stopping serving food in middle of the day when Google maps lists them as still open which is really annoying because vegans will walk long distances to get to a restaurant. When I arrived the waitress said I can't order because kitchen closes at 3 so I reluctantly said I'd just have a drink even though I walked 30min, but then noticed it was still a few minutes before 3pm so I asked again and luckily they let me order. Then as I was eating another couple came in and had exactly the same issue and were sadly turned away they looked really disappointed. I think the restaurant should just list themselves as closed when they don't do food because it's a vegan restaurant not a bar I doubt anyone is going there just for a drink unless they are passing by (in which case it doesn't matter if google maps lists them as closed). food was nice. Service was not...
Read moreHad to write and tell the world what an amazing experience we had having dinner here! The food was really good. Interesting and deep flavors. We ordered the vegan sample and had multiple different foods to try. Everything was a new and different dish and drink. Had flavors and combinations we have never had before! The service and people where amazing! I really wish I could remember all of their names. They did an amazing job, were friendly, full of smiles, humor and information! The bartender was amazing with mixing up amazingly tasty drinks. He literally sat down and explained some of the painstaking work he puts into making these amazing cocktails. The cook even poked her head out and was able to chat with her for a bit. Her amazing flavors, textures and presentation was wonderful. You all made it an amazing and memorable night for our first night in Copenhagen! Would...
